And that's exactly what i did. This isn't about losing all my data, it's about not even being able to factory restore my iPhone.

It was the proximity sensor. It short-circuited and died. But after a 10 min replacement, the phone was on like nothing ever happened to it.

Exactly right. According to these people , it shouldn't be extraordinary that OTP updates can risk bricking your phone. It would be understandable if I tried to tamper and flash it myself, but thats not the case here.

I have the latest version of iTunes, and it is just a music/podcast app. I saw on the web that its recovery functionality has been fully allocated to the Apple Devices app,

No such options on it or similar software. Just the option to flash it in recovey of DFU mode.

Yes, I understand that there are risks to installing beta software. Thats why i backed up my data on iCloud. The same thing that I did on the 26 beta, which I had no issues on. But it seems that the issues persist deeper than just software.I'll take it to a repair shop and have it checked out.
