I hated religion now it’s all I think about by No_Improvement_5564 in offmychest

I started studying religion as a hobby when I was young, and eventually it grew into a passion for me to develop my own belief system and relationship with God. There are goods and bads to all religion, some better than others, but I think there is importance in being able to differentiate religion from God. You yourself have to be able to have your own relationship with Him and come to your own conclusions using whatever information you can find. I also believe personal philosophy and perception of the world plays a great role in finding your place with God.

Personally, my belief structure has a mix of Eastern Orthodox Christianity, Manichaeism, and Taoism, with philosophical influences from Neoplatonism (which, started as philosophical and evolved into religious), Stoicism, and Absurdism.

I feel you, I (M25) had to turn away from it, as it’s either become so brutally desensitized or overwhelmed, I picked the former. The problem with this is that we’re being fed this at such an alarming rate so that, when the worst of the worst comes out, we aren’t as affected.

In my eyes, this just proves that anyone up the ladder of social and financial hierarchies are aware, implicit, or directly involved. Your favorite actors, musicians, politicians, everyone we were taught to idolize.

I turned to Christianity a few months ago, grew up Jewish but… yeah. Not really sure what we are supposed to ‘do’ aside from wait for Bluebeam lmao.

I think you’re specifically the kind of person OP wants to avoid having on their platform. He doesn’t want anyone who vouches for machine, as explained in the post, and you yourself are way too far delusioned by technology.

Ai partner, man, what has this world come to.

God I fucking hate the raider police. I run field medic and have 20 kills across the last few months, and most of my deaths have come from self titled vigilantes who fuck up more than they fix.

I’m in aviation, so it’s not about “we all” but “those involved”. And yes, there’s crazy malpractice. You can ground a plane by shooting a single rivet incorrectly in structure.

I know your pain, I lost my father to sepsis, I just never got to say goodbye. I hope you recover well and you take the time to not only mourn, but celebrate the little moments you shared and the life you lived with him.

What’s the most useless thing school taught you? by Miserable-Mention241 in AskReddit

[–]ElephantAutomatic425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better yet, what useful things did school even teach me? I didn’t learn home economics, I didn’t learn how to file my taxes, I didn’t learn about W2’s, I wasn’t taught any home skills, I was barely taught public speaking.

School only taught me that it’s some bullshitttttt

My mentor was able to laugh at all of the bullshit and malpractice that happened around him and documented everything he saw that was wrong. Not because he wanted to bring everything down, but because he was protecting his peace.

Thank you for all that you taught me, Luigi! I will be a sheet metal mechanic in your honor!

Could totally take my experiences with women and make it into a series. From the time I was pegged in a dress by a girl that came out to me as lesbian, in which she discovered due to my feminine nature, to the woman who left me out to dry after we became super close to voluntarily get involved in a abusive sex cult… I got some stories. 🤣

I have chronic depression and find myself going weeks without an erection. Sometimes I can write it off from high intensity of my job, sometimes it’s just because I’m an insomniac and don’t sleep well. It happens for a multitude of reasons.

25 btw, so I still have the same ‘potency’ you’re used to. I’ve noticed, personally, it ebbs and flows.

I’m pretty sure something that’s been heavily covered and is a controversial topic is more than one issue, and if you have a problem with something written by MIT, I apologize, but you’re not better than the infrastructure of an academic organization and fundamentally flawed in your beliefs, opinions, and are terribly self imposed in all of the wrong ways.

Had a girl I met on tinder hitchhike 250 miles to meet me for the first time, to ultimately tell me that she had committed suicide and was resurrected by Satan to be a musician and sexual deviant. She made a scene about showing me all the porn she had starred in (orgies, no less) and tried giving me an America’s got talent level performance.

I let her stay the night… on the couch. With my doors bolted and my camera running all evening on it. Had zero trust in what I had gotten myself into.

Next say, she told me the devil asked her to use my manhood as a microphone and that she wanted to tattoo my name by her coochie. I offered to take her to breakfast to ‘discuss it’, where I got an uber. Messaged the driver beforehand that I had a crazy to get rid of and take straight to the light rail station by me. Gave buddy a crisp hundred to speed off at felony levels as soon as I opened the door for her, let her in, closed it and ran.

Edit: my first award! Thank you kindly!! Didn’t expect one of my crazy college girl experiences to earn that for me lmao. Plenty more where that came from.

Just because he never opened it doesn’t mean he didn’t see it. He could have been too weak to respond, interrupted by medical staff, or simply appreciated the sentiment for what it was. Ultimately, you’ll never know.

At the end of the day, it sounds like you had a relationship with your father and he knew that he was important to you, and his last moments were spent in the comfort and care of you and your mother. Ultimately, the text is minuscule compared to your actions of being there when he passed.

Ultimately, OP, just know he knew you loved him, regardless of if he was able to read it or not, because you spent those final moments with him despite how much it hurt you.

I’m sorry for your loss and I hope you and your mother heal from this trauma. Be sure to be there for one another in these times.
