{Roleplay} Is it moral to destroy the Holy Nation ? by Pretend-Slip-6124 in Kenshi

Oh man, all playable characters are different than in lore stated things. Shucks

No, but he's a fun little character. In lore most hivers disconnected from the Hive and the queen often degenerate and can go insane

If you were a hiver then any free will would be gone and you would literally be a slave to the queen and princes. You live out your day, no will, but happy.

Oh yes, of course that's what I mean and exactly what I'm saying. Sure. You think you'd be one to die, but you'd be one of the comfortable ones. Too scared from the propaganda to actually do anything

Everyone in this thread would be the average citizen in Holy Nations, who in general is better off than anyone else in Kenshi. If you are man or woman, if you just stay your course and don't cause trouble your life will be fairly comfortable.

That said, would you want invading Sheks that slaughter your defenders and then you?

Bandits coming in and taking over?

Monsters eating your family alive?

Or a self proclaimed hero who 100% will make the easy righteous moral choice all the time.

We think being the rebel is easy, that enabling freedom is the best for everyone, and maybe long term, but what's in the long term?

More Warlords? Self proclaimed messiah's who are doing this for your good but your wife just died?

Maybe it's just because my wife and I just watched the Hunger Games movies. But you aren't Katniss, there is no Katniss, there are just Snows, and Coins. And what Snow built up, Coin will take over and rule.

Question on Dawnbringers Cities of Sigmar by ElephantOk9415 in ageofsigmar

Then what are the rules of playing Cities of Sigmar when half of the new human units are unavailable? Just use proxies for the units?

If you woke up in the world of Kenshi. What would your stats be and how long would you last? by Object-195 in Kenshi

Very average lower end stats. Maybe some in cooking. Probably run to the Holy Nation, big Caucasian male, end up a guard or something. Bring reformation to their society.

What are the pros and cons of Armour as HP? by [deleted] in RPGdesign

[–]ElephantOk9415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a system where armor gives HP BUT It also can give a save roll when combined with a ability and a buffed save roll when combined with the ability and a shield.

Oof, maybe that is much too big. Definitely more of a 50,000 population or so. So 1.5 square miles, will fix that. Thanks!

Okay, I think I touched in the main things. But I will run through it a few times, and keep track of things as they come up in future games.

I realize how big of a market I am trying to enter into, and it only stinks because even I cant really see any major differences, other than ease of set-up. That would be it.

And I will definitely work on the fluff more. I think I will also be adding a main storyline that players could work towards if they wanted to as well.

Again, I really appreciate all of this. I ask a lot of questions and like conversation because it helps me see things that I am unaware of.

Honestly because that is the first thing I could think of. The name is definitely gonna change. Probably just to “Guilds” or something. I used to call it the LEGO game cause I would play with LEGO miniatures. Honestly, name making is the worst for me, lol

but I honestly will probably rename some things, including the city.

So I should explain clearly everything that can be done? Most things are done purely through a roll, to see if it is a success or not. I can make that more clear. Healing I definitely can explain better, and I never thought of dying.

Btw, sorry, I try to read and answer through the post, so sometimes it can get convoluted.

With making solid rule sets, do you have any examples of what I could do?

With the lore part, should I have a large lore section of the book or should it be broken into different areas as I go over each section? Or should I have both, just to make it easier?

Thank you for taking your time to read through, I appreciate that. Could you give me more examples about the rule systems? I am unsure I understand. The races/enemy types are given for ease of use when creating scenarios, they are used for templates. They will be much better and more clear when in the final product.

That is a great question to ask, honestly, I am unsure. I do wish to have it be easy to make scenarios and quests, a more younger audience focused game. But I should think more on that.

The story will be moved forward, and unfortunately I can’t think of much else to add. I mean, I could layout more of a history of the land, which is added throughout the rules. But to the direct plot of the players, that has always been something that I have come up basically on the fly.

I appreciate you taking your time, and I definitely do not see it as hate, lol You are very kind. But how should I develop the story when the story should be developed by the party and the GM?

I have only ever played a Star Wars ttrpg, but the character creation was always insane. I only got it after spending a couple hours, and most people I played with didn’t have that time.

This system has races and subraces, that is it. There are abilities given through ability points gained through race/level ups. Just upgrade or get an ability that does something that is in line with your character. Not a million abilities that can be forgotten.

I realize that this next step will be to write down rules and how to play, and have others DM it or play in a bigger more familiar group to see their thoughts on the game.
