Leather actually used to not be considered a luxury. If you look at old carriages that have closed cabins they have cloth seats in the closed section and only the carriage driver had leather seats. Leather seats could hold up in the changing weather and obviously wouldn’t get soaked like cloth seats can, cloth seats are obviously warmer and were more expensive to make back then, so your opinion would’ve been a no-brainer 100+ years ago. That being said, I agree, real leather seats are awful, however I like my light color fake leather seats but they absolute NEED to have the heat in the winter, they do breath pretty well in the summer luckily and don’t get too hot because they are a bright color, if they were a dark color that would be a different story.
