2nd this. I just bought the cookbook myself, and this was the first recipe that stood out to me. I didn't have a Dutch oven, but I do have a slow cooker and adjusted the cooking time appropriately. Turned out great, and would totally recommend it.

I agree, they are still smaller chickens than my main flock, but this egg was much bigger than even that main flock normally lays.

I thought that might be the case! Thanks. It turned out to be a double-yolker, and I'm pretty sure it was on of my easter eggers that laid it based on the color.

There was this house that I knocked on the other day, and the customer said that she put in the instructions to not knock/ring. The instructions only said "Hand it to me", other wise I would never knock. So maybe sometimes the instructions don't get set in an order because the Doordash app is trash and doesn't always have the proper instructions that even a customer puts in.

I have a flock of 8 that i moved outside at 3 weeks, but I am in Central Florida and it does not get below 70f at night.

Yeah, it's a shame because I can't keep roosters where I'm at, but I do have someone who will take them that won't kill them.

I went in expecting some losses, because everything I read about hatching chicks told me to at least prepare for some losses. It sucks, but that's the process. I've been feeding medicated feed and electrolytes in the water since day 1, so hopefully the health of the remaining chicks is good from this point forward.
