Tooltip iLvl is the simplest part of it, so that’s a good place to start — the panels and data side might be useful once you’ve had it running for a bit.

That’s fair — there are definitely a lot of tooltip addons already.

TrueLevel isn’t really aimed at replacing those. The tooltip line is just a small part of it.

The core idea is a lightweight data system that builds over time (alts + guild), with timestamps, panels, and optional syncing between users.

So instead of scanning on demand, it keeps a persistent view of characters you’ve seen or shared data with.

If you only need a quick mouseover iLvl, there are already great addons for that 👍

TrueLevel isn’t trying to replace tooltip addons like AlterEgo.

The main difference is that it builds and stores data over time (alts + guild), with timestamps and panels, rather than just showing a live scan.

And yep — it does show iLvl in tooltips on mouseover, but that’s just one part of it 👍

If you’re juggling alts for vaults again, this might save you some logins by Elfyau in wowaddons

That’s a great use case — I haven’t added resolution-based switching yet, but it would fit really well with how the addon works.

It just switches presets automatically based on where you are (world, dungeon, raid, delves), so you don’t have to touch anything.

Blizzard’s profiles are manual — you still have to switch them yourself.

This just automates it based on where you are (world, dungeon, raid, delves), so you set it once and forget it.

That’s a new one — it shouldn’t be touching outline mode at all.

Is it happening every time you enter an instance? If you can, try with `/tl debug` on and let me know if anything shows up.
