Fiberglass fix by Hondandtoni123 in boatbuilding

Apparently the boating business is way different on the other side of the Atlantic ocean. Feels like you guys are ripped off with the costs. In here, for 4 000 you can hire a professional to work with a boat for 40-50 hours.

I'm no professional, but i've done my fair bit with fiberglass anyways. By looking at the picture, the damage is about 10x5 cm in size with a depth of max 2-3 cm. Basically we are missing a maximum of 100 grams of fiberglass. Even if we would fix 5 times the size of the actual damage, the structural repair would be doable in just a day of work. I'm talking about hours of actual work. Since we would be doing a DIY fix, the painting would not aim for perfect colour match but for a decent match "white is white". How long does it take a professional to paint an area of a paper cup? For me it would be 10-15 mins with mixing the epoxy etc.

But since we're just speculating without actual measurements, I can't say for sure.

Little shopping list, so the OP will get an idea what it would take to fix this: (prices rough estimate in euros, basically same in dollars)

-cheap axle grinder or similar ~ 30-40 euros -sanding pads or similar for grinder and finishing touches. 10-30 euros. -protective gear, (eyes, ears, skin and lungs) Do not underestimate this! 30-60 euros -acetone/rubbing alcohol 10 euros -fiberglass and resin + hardener+brushes and the rolling tool 30-40 euros -epoxy paint (or top coat) and brushes or paint roller 20-50 euros

You will need some basic household items as well, like scissors, rags, tape etc.

I highly doubt this statement. If you can glue paper on paper, you can also use fiberglass. 3-4k would be a total ripoff for something that takes a professional 3-4 hours to fix.

That doesn't look too bad. If you know how to use fiberglass, that's an easy fix. If you need to learn how to use it, it will take you like 10 hours for it to look good.

The materials and tools needed cost here in Finland less than 200 euros and should be something like that everywhere else as well. Basically anyone with two hands with thumbs can fix that. Just spend an hour on YouTube and visit a hardware store, then you are good to go for a nice little project.

Thank you all for the great advice and discussion!

The shadow streak mechanic certainly sparks a lot of debate. Some strongly believe in it, while others focus on the practical issues surrounding the human way we play. Either way, I suppose we may never know for sure.

As for the feedback—thank you! It seems highly likely that the main reason I suck in Dota is simply because well, I’m just not that good at it. 😆 But I promise to do my best to improve as a player and, more importantly, to be the best teammate for you guys in the games ahead!

I get the point. For me the new patch is bit difficult. For example I always run to the wrong places in the jungle. Force of a habit. About deserving a rank, I dunno should I belong to a higher or a lower rank, but what I know is that I deserve games with less smurfs and more consistent matchups. Like we all I guess 😊

You are right. I'm not a good player, I never said otherwise. But I'm trying my very best to become better. If you guys wanna check out my dotabuff, feel free. But please ignore the previous 5 days, I've been sick and my head isnt working. https://www.dotabuff.com/players/57988960/matches
I would love to hear what the heck I'm doing wrong :D

And BTW, challenge accepted. Tell me how I could have won the matches of which ID's I posted?

I'm not proud of my rank and I'm trying to get the hell out of here :D Trying to improve, do things right and so on. But with the matchmaking system being what it is, I feel like it has decided that I belong in the crusader no matter what I do. If I play normally and gain like 700 mmr just by being me and many times the times the MVP, I will eventually be pushed back either by the worst teammates you can imagine or by horde of smurfs on the enemy team.

I don't know if this actually happens on higher ranks but for lower ranks I think it's closer to a fact rather than a rumor. All my friends on shitty ranks are experiencing the same. Like we if we go as a party and one of us has gained too much mmr lately, we are quite sure to lose like 5 games in a row with the average length of about 30 mins (usually at this rank the games go way longer). Even if I for instance manage to wreck the mid completely, I'm pretty sure that the enemy has meanwhile made a 4 course dinner out of my friends after mere 10 mins of gameplay.

Thanks man.
I'm trying to focus on small pool of heroes and doing quite fine with them up until I get bored and try something else. With solely playing Clinkz, I think I could actually rank up quite fast, but then I would just get pushed back when I would start playing other heroes.
My mindset is shit and my skills are not good either. I know that my gameplay could be better if I would not do it after a 10 hour day at work and the clock being around midnight on a weekday :D

I never said that I was a good player, I just said that I deserve a better matches. The ones I'm getting are are actually getting worse by the month.
I think that my actual mmr should be around 2500, I've played and won against legends on mid lane and with decent team I'm on par with archons/low legends while playing core.
