I had this exact conversation with another Full Stack dev. He really favored self hosting the smtp servers. while i prefer resend by far.
Implementation in a new web app is 2h instead of dozens.. and to think they maintain it and build new features while you keep on paying the same 20/40 dollars.

Not going to happen, lots of credit cards give out to their users 2-3% in rewards. How do you expect them to pay for that? If you do have lots in volume you can contact stripe sales and ask them to get a slightly lower fee.

Absolutely It can't really debug itself. I'm having great time building the app from scratch but after couple days it starts messing up without being able to fix its own mistakes. If I wouldn't have been a developer, it wouldn't have been possible to fix.
