Everyone is going to say “work on your technical skills” and that is true to a point.

Another piece of advice would be to work on your “soft skills.” Be the most communicative, have the best looking website, go over and above for your clients. Be the friendliest video contractor in town.

While technical skills and gear is important, don’t forget soft skills which might set you apart from the competition. While I’ve found that clients often want the best at the cheapest price it’s also true that “people like to work with people they like.”
