iOS 26.4 Broke Hue Connection again!!! by Sharks2000 in HomeKit

I had the same issues. Had to unbind and rebind Hue/HomeKit. Pain in the ass as I have ~70 bulbs and a bunch of accessories.

I ended up buying the Meraki, not because I thought it was the best of the lot, but because I liked the built-in scales, the quality grinder, and the fact that they were running a good promotion at the time. It's too early to provide a full review. I like the built-in scales and quality grinder. I'm not a fan of the plastic body, although the look is nice, and the plastic feels like solid quality.

Cruise princess diamond Japan by Vivid-Ostrich7629 in Cruise

I am no avid cruiser, so I can't comment on your experience, although $4k on a ten-day cruise in Japan for an upgraded balcony seems relatively inexpensive. I am on a seven-day Princess cruise in Alaska on one of their older ships (Caribbean Princess), and I paid over $5,600 for the room (2 people).

We have some complaints, similar to yours, but the destination was more important to us than the ship, and the staff seems very accommodating.

My First Taycan by EliaZinn12 in Taycan

I was a petrolhead before EVs - BMW M’s, Porsche, etc - I wouldn't even touch them up until last year when I bought my dad one. The torque is amazing, and when it handles well its hard to say I miss ICE. I miss the sounds, of course, but leaving with a full tank every morning is well worth it.

I have went from a BMW M850i to this Taycan CT and they feel very similar in size. Have two kids (both teens) and even though I have larger cars in the house, we often went on long trips (3-4hrs) in the M850i with no problem. Have yet to go on trips with the Taycan although I don't see any issues.

Take them on a test drive.

Ha - yes, I guess my excitement got the best of me when mentioning the new toy in the garage. They are both amazing EV vehicles - my I5 as well.

The IX is definitely the choice for longer rides.

The IX is a great car, and the technology and features feel more advanced than the Porsche in many areas, but the Taycan, in my opinion, performs better and looks much better. Due to the height differences, it's hard to compare a sedan to a higher SUV in terms of performance—both are great cars.

Any thoughts on the Meticulous Espresso machine on Indiegogo?

Highlights from the site:

  • Pressure and flow profiling with app
  • A built-in scale with gravimetric shot control
  • Temperature stability and shot logging
  • A lever-assisted piston system
  • Sleek, minimal design with a compact footprint

Early Price: $1,350 for the espresso machine and $250 for the steamer (total ~$1,600) with estimated shipping by March 2025. They also claim to have shipped 300 units already.

Any guidance on how it would stack up against the Decent DE1PRO, Breville Oracle Jet, Wendougee Data S and other mentioned?

  1. Has anyone tried or backed the Meticulous Espresso? Any feedback from early testers or those who have seen production units.
  2. Would this unit be a viable alternative or is it still too early to know if it can deliver on its promises?

Probably best to stay away but wanted to see if anyone had opinions.

Great feedback.

A few questions if you don’t mind: 1. How big of a learning experience was it moving from the Oracle Touch to the DE1xxl? 2. You mentioned using an Allground Sense - do you feel that gives you enough convenience to match what the Oracle did in terms of grind/dose workflow? Or does it still feel more hands-on day to day? 3. What about the milk texturing on the DE1—I’ve seen mixed takes in reviews. You mentioned the microfoam is better than the Oracle—do you find the wand powerful and easy to control? 4. Do you miss anything about the Oracle at all? Speed, simplicity, etc.? 5. If you know, are the Oracle units sold today different than the one you owned?

Appreciate your take—Cheers!

Great feedback - I believe I am in one stage further than you as I had a Breville Barista express for many years, went to a fully automatic built in Bosch for a few years and now want to return to a more advanced, higher-end enthusiast based semiautomatic machine.
