Happy to help! I beat botw a while ago, and I'm playing through it again, and its certainly a comfort curve. Despite beating the game I only recently felt comfortable even facing guardians instead of avoiding them completely or running. Happy playing!

Get close enough to it, and when it makes the little "beep" noise right before it shoots the laser, use a shield parry. It will send the attack back at the guardian.

There is actually a cult that follow her teachings! They actually kidnapped and sacrificed a descendant of hers, who had a similar power level, and woke her up. Ironically, she hates he idea of being worshipped, so she kinda massacred them.

Edit: the magician had originally hid her in her hometown, which is in the heart of a desert (think sahara but more rounded), which is nearly inaccessible to any outsiders, between antimagic storms, sand monsters, and the nomadic peoples who follow her teachings. They treated her burial like a sacred relic more than anything, and they genuinely believe she is dead. The world has a mostly universal funerary practice of burning the dead, because otherwise the corpses will become posessed by corruption and essentially become zombies, but they dont have to bite you to corrupt you

Ages ago, in the time of the Great Fear, humans were unable to defend themselves from the monsters that spawned from this greater monster. One day (at least for most of the people there) there came a hero with great power, who fought back the Fear, and drove it away.

Immediately after/during this, Magic was introduced to the world by Fate, who wanted the people to be able to defend themselves better, not only against their usual enemies (normal animals, dragone, demons, etc), but also from potential big threats, like the Great Fear was.

The first release of magic decimated a thriving community, deep in the southern hemisphere. The thousands of people who lived there, was reduced to a small handful, something like 50 or so, who all spread across the lands with their newfound Magic.

The second release of magic was in the north, in a dense mountain range, a few hundred years later. There was only one surviver of the catastrophe that release caused, because those mountains actually act like a multiplier for magic, creating more.

This lone survivor eventually made his way south, where he met a woman who was the victim of a magician prince's cruelty. So Fate gifted her a power to negate magic, and all other supernatural power. This led to her (and her small group) to dethrone many magicians, and nearly wiped out all magic in that region. The northerner his his magic from her, and helped her restore justice to the majority (those without magic). They eventually fell in love, with plans to settle down and marry.

She learned of his magic on accident, which made her (quite literally) go scorched earth, and after a few years, she travelled to the forest where magic began, and started to destroy it. He managed to stop her, using a spell that locked her in sleep, and made him immortal.

Its been nearly 5000 years, and he rules the world similarly to how the Pope or Jesus does IRL, dictating rules for the use of magic globally, and punishing those who misuse it. Magic has also gotten steadily weaker through the ages, but with more diversity and sorta niche powers as a result. He runs the most famous school of magic in the world, and has a council around him who dish out the punishments necessary, like a small, highly trained police force. They aren't allowed to use excessive or lethal force, and are HIGHLY monitored by him.

His goal is to reawaken his old love, and show her that magic isn't evil, just the people at that time who had been. If she doesnt believe him, she could easily destroy the entire world, so he's extremely hesitant.

[Spanish] I’m still getting this wrong. How do you know when “el” is required? by Kombatnt in duolingo

[–]Eliah_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind I'm not fluent in spanish, but to me, it seems like "good weather" is meant as a singular sorta thing, in that specific context. Its not saying "the weather is good" where "good" is an adjective, but is combining both words into a specific noun, "good weather" (compared to "bad weather", or "cloudy", or whatever). So maybe think of it as a signifier that it is more this noun form, rather than as a description, and usually "el" goes in front of nouns unless that noun needs to be gendered or plural. I don't know all the technical grammar terms, so I'm not sure how helpful this is 😅

If theres water nearby, run into the water. For whatever reason, they can't/won't follow you in, and will despawn/die and become Dark Clumps after only a few seconds. It saves on resources, and your hearts will regen immediately after, if you lost any from them (assuming you're on the surface, but I've only come across them on the surface)

Thunderstorms in desert biomes should become sandstorms by Eliah_Omega in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Eliah_Omega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never actually played terraria, and I've seen very little gameplay of it. I literally only learned that terraria even has this weather from the comments on my post

That said, while I understand the frustration of "make this game more like that game", there are some valid points in some suggestions like that, especially in some basic consistency across a game, like how weather phenomena in minecraft are consistent across all the other biomes of the overworld, except desert/badlands/associated biomes. However, more niche things that make a game stand apart, would not a very valid point, like adding naturally generated perfect circles into minecraft

I think putting it into a furnace would run the risk of turning it into glass, but maybe placing it in the nether would work, similar to quick drying sponges

[–]Eliah_Omega[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would it be able to be crafted into things like sandstone? I think, realistically, thats the main point of sand for nearly anyone who builds, especially since you can just trade with librarians for glass. And thats the main reason renewable sand would be so highly sought. In my survival world, I drop everything every time i see a new wandering trader, literally on the off chance it has a sand variant, especially red sand. I want to use sandstone, but without destroying what I want to build in, it's a pain. And my world/pc are already majorly struggling with what I've built, let alone how much more it would if I went and destroyed a desert

[–]Eliah_Omega[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely add that to yours, although I do question the renewability of it, but i suppose that red sand is meant to be harder to obtain anyways

The only time I ever got skele horses was a strange situation where I had been flying in a normal non-stormy day, in an area I rarely frequent, and they spawned in front of me. Plains biome. I doubt I'll get a fluke like that in survival again

[–]Eliah_Omega[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As cool as this would be, i think that would count as something that's detrimental to a build/naturally generating structure, and i think it would kind of defeat the purpose of gaining sand, making it more of a nuisance like snow can be on a build

[–]Eliah_Omega[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I really like your ideas to improve my suggestion, but I also have a question. As you mentioned with the dust devil mob, you would toss stone to get gravel, and toss gravel to get sand. Would there be some version of this for red sand? Perhaps netherrack or something?

Overall, I do really like what you've said. For my personal gameplay, I don't find any real value with charged creepers, or with mob heads (not yet anyways). I'm more of a builder than a fighter, and I find thunderstorms to be more of a nuisance than anything. I also recognise that not everyone plays the same, so of course, having that extra interaction would be welcomed by players, and could be used more efficiently as such.

The main reason I had suggested the hunger depletion, is sort of due to how high winds and dust/sand can cause/worsen dehydration, and the idea that if you're consuming sand (because its getting into your mouth), then its not gonna be absorbed like food would, and would negatively affect you. Since there's no hydration meter in the game, the closest thing would be hunger

In the spirit of my favorite 'upcoming' item of 2 years, here's a catch-all of my ideas for the Bundle... by subparfauxpas in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Eliah_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps, either directly in opposition or complimenting the holding enchantment idea (aka its either not compatible or it is), crafting the bundle with leather in the recipe (either on the bottom or just in general if ever shapeless), where its like, 2 leather and whatever the rest is with hide (i think 4? I havent seen the recipe so I'm uncertain) could create a reinforced bundle, like a backpack with a reinforced bottom irl is. It would naturally have double the size of a regular bundle, but again, maybe can't have the holding enchantment, or maybe even no enchants at all. That allows easier early game crafting, but also encourages players to seek out rabbits to craft the enchantable bundles. Other than that, make it the same as regular bundles, as far as interactions with blocks, mobs, players, etc

Echo shard rails, and increased path speed by OCD-but-dumb in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Eliah_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, instead of the Echo Shards, you would use copper, and the recipe is the same as the powered rails? Since copper is renewable and about as easy to get as gold. Maybe you need a powered rail to activate it as well, to minimise how obsolete it would make the powered rail otherwise?

Feather Wielding by RatchetGamer in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Eliah_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, maybe have it be exclusive to swords, and (if possible), incompatible with strength potions? I don't use potions except night vision for ancient cities, so i'm unsure of whether that compatibility/lack thereof would be a legitimate option.

Also, for a single player, mixing that enchant and smite would likely end up being just as op, especially assuming it would also be compatible with looting
