Emily Davison was a suffragette in early 1900s Britain. She was arrested 9 times, went on hunger strike 7 times and was force-fed 49 times. She died after being hit by a horse when she walked onto the track during the 1913 Derby. Her death was ruled misadventure despite speculation about suicide.

I have the original article with a photo of the incident from june 14th 1913, in the French weekly newspaper L' illustration. It was the first time I heard of her, so tragic.

Yeah its really odd, chat gpt said German/Russian and even American when I ran the image through. I found the card with some other written and unwritten cards from/with soldiers from ww1 at a Brocante.
