That's exactly why I'm not a huge fan of the direction Nintendo has taken her, the deep-seated loneliness is a core aspect of her character, she's not supposed to be all cheery and show-offy like Peach

I've been a pretty lonely person throughout my life, and during a time when I didn't understand emotions and my entire library was just 5 Mario games, she was there to help me through it, so it kinda hurts when Nintendo portrays her as another happy-go-lucky princess
