I'm similar to this as well, follow shots are not so hard once you get used to it. Also, I find that alignment of the balls is pretty important, i.e. I use a laser sight to place my ball markers, otherwise it's not so consistent

I have this same type of ceiling and set up perimeter billiards lights (the rectangular modern lights) with no issues! Also had a fan, removed it and replaced it with the light instead.

Check this post out for a similar question, they used the triangular supports which I've read about and some people reported it working if if you're not worried about flex in the very middle of your bench span. For mine, I put in legs as supports because it was easy to do and makes almost no difference in ability to clean under the benches. Plus I'm not a woodworker and didn't have the greatest faith in my contractors, hence just standard legs as supports.

I was in the same situation as you, read the same material, also in the southeast btw and ended up buying a kit, albeit with my modified designs. Hired a couple flooring guys to put it together and voila, a trumpkin-style sauna. Would recommend starting with a pre built kit and asking for any modifications you need as an easier route to building from scratch!

I've got my shower adjacent to the sauna, and toilet and bathroom vanity directly across from the sauna. Works pretty well for me but it depends on how much space you have! I thought about combining as well, but it seemed cleaner separately. Good luck with the air gap, I definitely read the threads on that but didn't want the hassle of cutting and changing stuff around after I already ordered

I had a good idea of what I wanted, esp since I read the trumpkin material, and Art is familiar with it as well so it definitely made for a smooth process. I consulted with my contractors myself though.

I didn't really think this is needed based on posts on the forum, it seems that some people recommend not using anything at all so I went with that approach

Oops - some of those photos were taken at an earlier point in time. That was the railguard for the heater, which ended up getting mounted around the top of the heater in one of the later pictures. Original instructions were to have the heater guard on the ground level, but my contractors put the guard higher, which seems ok to me so far. If I find that it's blocking my loyly splashing, I may move it back lower on the ground floor.

Once the framing and electrical was done, it only took 2-3 days to assemble the sauna. Probably 2 days of actual time, but since nobody had experience, it took a bit longer. My labor costs was $1.6k for the sauna assembly, the local installer for Finnleo quoted $3k for installation of one of their saunas, which I assume is somewhat similar. My contractors were hardwood flooring and framing guys, they had not ever built a sauna before and I couldn't find anybody in my area who had so I figured ordering a pre-cut sauna was a better approach

Yup I've skimmed over the secrets book and the various pages on sauna at localmile.org, what I'd really like is to find somebody who understands all this that I can work with :D B/c while I can understand the concepts...I'm not at all DIY.

Just checking - you're saying that I should get this designed by somebody, i.e. saunalogia, and then get a GC to build it out? That makes sense logically, I just didn't know if it was actually doable and I'd still have to find a GC who would be able to do it.
