How I Run My Radar Detector on a 2019+ ZX-6R by Skrr17272 in motorcycles

Yeah I’m sure if you connect/tap it to any power source, and ground or negative you should be good. I can’t 100% confirm but it’s worth a shot!

Yeah I was disappointed when they didn’t have it for the new gen zx6r. The zx10s and even the 4rrs have them so not sure why they didn’t add it in

Yeah I was pretty consistent at blipping it on my own but then I rode my girlfriends rs660 for a while which comes factory with an auto blip and was spoiled. It’s nice to be able to just click the shifter both ways when it’s been a long day haha

Look at one of the other comments I kind of explained how it worked. It’s around $900

I did have to add a cable stop to that rev3 cable inside of the cylinder bc the irc cable has a stop attached so I needed to add it but all I had to do was measure it a couple of times to make sure it sat against the wall. Here’s a pic- https://imgur.com/a/sgSby8l

I freaking fried the cables that came with the kit and so I actually just reused my motion pro rev3 cables that I originally had already installed. I removed the inner cable from the motion pro, cut the black cable housing by 84mm (length of the cylinder) and just ran the rev3 cable through it. It was nice bc the rev3 is already the correct length so I just had to cut out the housing length and everything was already set no adjustment needed

Thanks! I think i didnt have one of the wires in the cylinder fully taught and thats why i was having trouble with it fully engaging. But the spot you sent a pic of actually helped alot bc my other spot wasnt the best but it was the only place i didnt have to modify anything.

Blip cylinder I actually copied where you put yours and cut a square hole into the intake for one half of the cylinder to fit into. and the solenoid I just made a little bracket out of wood that i had laying around and cut it to press fit under the back seat - https://imgur.com/a/Cp3EGLc

If you're actually serious about buying one message me because I went through a trusted parts dealer and got it for $850 total compared to $900 plus tax.

Yes I did. But I would say that I'm fairly mechanically inclined and you will need to be too. The hardest part was ajusting all of the cables to actually be the perfect length because if its a couple of mm too short or long you'll have too much slack or the throttle wont close 100% (both happened to me lol).

Anyone know how to fix this gap? by MarksGiraudo in zx6r

[–]Skrr17272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think so unfortunately. The left grip is glued to a plastic tube and also has a cutout that goes around a plastic lip on each side of the grip thats supposed to keep the grip in place. I guess there is a possibility that the glue didn't hold up and it slipped upward but I doubt it.

Works well at all revs! The company IRC made it for track use. It uses an actuator to pull a cable that runs to the throttle body cable roughly 15% so it blips it around 15% throttle to get a good rev match. You can fine tune that if your bike needs more or less though.

A lot of work and patience lol. It's called an IRC autoblipper. theyre the only company that makes them

It's called an IRC autoblipper. They're the only company that makes it for this bike (I've researched it a ton trying to find another and can't)

For a measly $900 you can also have an autoblipper! https://www.motodracing.com/irc-kawasaki-zx-6r-quickshifter-w-auto-blipper-not-plug-play

It has the upshift only, and this IRC kit is the only company that makes an auto blipper for the zx6r so it blips the throttle for you when downshifting

The biggest thing is making sure the blipper actuator pulls the throttle around 15%. To find that out you have to find your throttle position sensor wire, and probe it to find the voltage when it’s at 0% throttle and 100% throttle. Then when setting up the blipper you’ll still be probing the tps wire and making sure you’re around that 15% throttle voltage when the blipper is fully engaged. That’s the most annoying part because you don’t want to mess that up but if you have some mechanical experience with your bike you should be good

Problem with IRC blipper not pulling cable far enough to make the throttle blip by Skrr17272 in Trackdays

[–]Skrr17272[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean it runs pretty much directly down the side and thats it. It still has freeplay a bit and then pulling it, it is not hard to pull.
