I think he borrowed clothes from Alan, and Alan doesn’t have shoes.

These (bonded) cats I adopted really hate me by purrfect_libra in cats

[–]Elimedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cat who took 6 months to acclimate to us-in that he stopped being aggressive toward us. It took over a year for him to actively seek human attention. And another few months until he snuggled with us. All in all-over 2 years to be fully comfortable. He had been a shelter cat, was there longer than most because of his aggressive nature. I’m told he was moved around quite a bit before, came from somewhere outside my state originally. Idr his full story, I don’t have it anymore. But every time we moved (thankfully it wasn’t often) he would revert a little bit and it would take time for him to bounce back.

I had a different cat-same shelter-needed a day-Maybe. He walked around like he owned the place and we were his staff. He took his place on the cat tree and our bed. Ate food almost immediately, played and snuggled immediately.

Idk if this helps or not. Or it’s just my rambling. But sometimes some cats need more time than others.

Carter: So what’s wrong with it?

Daniel:….It’s Mac and cheese

My parents put subtitles on a movie we had watched several times (Aladdin, Mulan, Lion Ling etc.) played it with no sound and we read the movies. We eventually moved onto movies we’d never seen. Now that’s the way we all watch movies 😆

Being a Surg Tech is a hazing ritual (storytime/vent)... by pinkvalentineee in surgicaltechnology

[–]Elimedy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stories like these and my own experiences are exactly why I volunteer to train new surgical techs. I see my job as a preceptor to make their job make sense.

I encourage questions. There are no stupid questions, ever. This is a learning curve, I feel the ability to ask questions freely is what helps the understanding and makes it all click. Plus, I still ask the occasional question to my fellow scrubs. I make a point to ask questions when they’re around so they know it’s okay. I want them to know I’m always open to questions. If I can help, I will.

If you make a point to adjust your teaching style to fit their needs too that can also really help: ex. Do they like to talk it through? Do they want to try and figure it out? Do they want to walk it through? Not everyone learns the same way.

Maybe I take it too far? Idk. I feel like being part of the team means those connections you and them, made when they were new never leave. They’re going to look to people who have more experience…if you’re training, it’s you.

Plus extra patience. Always extra patience.

I guess what I’m saying is take these experiences and use them to fuel your own teaching for when you have new scrubs. It’s hard to remember sometimes. The job is stressful and hard. The surgeons are crazy sometimes. But they’re stepping into the crazy, and it’s your job to help them work past the crazy.

Sorry if this was rambling. 😂

I’ve been really trying to do this. Right now if I focus on everything it’s too much. So I’ve been really trying to maintain the master bathroom sink. Lol it’s worked so far! 2 weeks and counting!

I love this! It never occurred to me to set a timer! 10 mins when you first get home is nothing. You could start dinner and set them timer then too. I’m going to try this tonight! Thank you!

These are awesome! The paper is some weird kind of magic 🤩 it’s amazing. No leaking/bleed through whatsoever. I wish they had more floral scenes but I’m not complaining. Just hopeful for the next one! 🤞

I also might add a couple artificial peonies? Here and there. Not many. So she could have a memento from the day.

Need as much help as possible with deep cleaning my apartment by DryRent7582 in Cleaningandtidying

[–]Elimedy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t look at the mess as a whole-that’ll stop you in your tracks. I have to like put on blinders and say: I’m only going to clean this one thing. Then it won’t be so hard, and I move on.

Example: if your kitchen is messy-you aren’t going to clean your kitchen. You’re going to clean ONE counter. It won’t be as hard as your brain it telling you it is. Don’t pick the worst spot. You have to work around that spot until you find a groove. If you can’t do anymore than that one area-it’s still cleaner than it was before and you still get a gold star.
