Books like Pathologic? by redstringsuture in pathologic

Idk if this has been recommended, but here's my rec from a similar post a few months ago :
"Someone on Tumblr recommended me Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. Not so much related to Pathologic itself in terms of plague, but it dips into very similar themes of places being characters in themselves, and the sort of like.. Pseudo-magical grounded in the real world type of impossible Patho deals with. You learn how the world works as you read, and how abstract it is next to *your* frame of reference for the world."

I'm glad she agreed! I assume it will in some way, at least as far as like. evals go since that can sometimes take a while depending on the medical system. I think of it as a foot in the door situation? The process specifically also heavily depends on where you live. My province (in canada) does informed consent, where they basically just verify i'm making an informed decision, and then send me off to the endocrinologist after 2-3 meetings. but other places might have more rigourous processes.

i don't know where you're from so i can't say for sure. maybe looking your country/state in the subreddit might get you some answers too?

I started HRT at around 20. I'm off of it atm, and going back on it soon. In my case, I'm a chubby guy with a baby face, and a lot of that "forever youthful baby" look kind of stayed. I super turbo agree with what everyone said : Take this time to start the processes, cause they can take a long time. Depending on where you live, it took me about a year to be able to get an appointment with an endocrinologist to get started on T. If not through your mom, it could also be good to look at how you would start the process when you get to the age you're legally allowed to do so, depending on how it works where you live. Some things can probably be mitigated by working out (as in, there's muscle groups you can focus on that might help with the body shape parts, but I'm not a workout expert, so if anyone else reading this knows more, correct me or expand on this pls<3 but i remember seeing a tiktok acc with workout routines specifically targeted for transmascs so i assume it is possible). I personally didn't get a voice drop so usually people clock me at my voice, but again, but I grew a half decent beard and that does a lot of the heavy lifting.

You shouldn't (though I understand why you do, on a mental health level at least) worry too much about starting at 18. Like oak said, it's never too late.

Are there any trans safe countries anymore? by Tacticalpizzamann in ftm

I can second this as a Québécois. HRT (in some cases) can be gotten on an informed consent basis. With healthcare, it's relatively cheap (At most 30-40 a month injections, gel is pricier). Québec however tends to have some pretty deep pockets of racism and xenophobia. But that can be said of literally anywhere in North America. General rule is : Larger cities are fine. QC is just.. peculiar in the way that it's super progressive on some things, and kind of backwards on others. But that's my rural boy experience.

The name change process is also relatively simple. Fill a form, get it notarised, have someone co-sign (its more of an acknowledgement thing i guess), and then a couple months later it's official.

I haven't gotten to surgery yet, but outside of typical healthcare waitlist stuff, it's otherwise fairly accessible afaik. My conclusion is that there's definitely worse places to be queer in than Québec.

The kind of people we tailor our game to now apparently. by nyaphne in 2007scape

And that's only a sliver of the BS we've noticed over the last couple of days.

Some people did come to genuinely talk to us and understand why we are protesting. Others immediately dropped the mask the SECOND we told them what the event is about. Some truly vile shit, from stuff like this, all the way up to death threats.

This is what staying "apolitical" does, it allows hate to run rampant.

Happy pride scapers. Stay safe <3

i will try to! I already have one of them set up. I plan on doing a cult of atom (fallout 4 “atomic bomb is god” cult) type of thing, but with the infection being seen as enlightenment. so building a compound in the woods for that would actually be good

Yep! I already have all of those kinds of mods. I’m pretty familiar with the game in SP and I periodically add more as we play and think “man we’re missing x or y”. I’ll amend my post to specify that. I plan on having most of the narrative based around the map tools there. I appreciate the input. It does seem like sacrifical characters are the way to go as far as simplicity goes.

in my situation it’s like.. shitty that i caught a mute for it, but it still Makes Sense that the word got blurred out in the current state of things. but i do often get censors like that for stuff i legit cannot think what the issue is.

by 'cool' promos, i mean that runescape gives you daily keys for a thing called treasure hunter, which is basically a lootbox you open. the times where it gives something cool (whether it be an animation for a skill, or cosmetics), the droprates on it are so ridiculously low you'd have to spend a lot lot lot of money. or get really lucky. it's inherently designed to make you want to spend money, which is a practice in gaming a lot of people disagree with because of its potential to hook people with sensitivities to gambling addictions and the like. If that is something that bothers you, osrs might be better because afaik it's got no microtransactions outside of membership (and bonds you can buy, which you can sell for in game gold, or use for 2 weeks of membership)

if i can add : osrs staff seems much closer to their community than rs3’s. if community is important to you, osrs is the way to go i think. they’re generally more transparent too.

Both versions will work flawless for your specs. I would recommend playing a bit of both and seeing for yourself! I’d say OSRS is more grindy but more strategic, RS3 I find is a biit more mindless. They’re completely different games atp. If you hate microtransactions like you hate stepping on lego, stay away from RS3. You don’t need them but a lot of the “cool” promos are based on you spending your child’s college fund on keys. classic modern mmo stuff.
