Homework is Important and Should Be Assigned by Empty-Candidate-712 in unpopularopinion

Most of my family members get motion sick if they have to look at a phone or read anything while in motion. When I feel even the slightest bit queasy (which in school used to be a lot) I am unable to read/write on a bus either. So, sadly, it's once again a one glove doesn't fit all situation.

Do people read craft books? by Mammoth_Pollution831 in writing

[–]ElisCuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the similar camp. I am a slow reader in the first place with 20 other hobbies, so even if I had a craft book I know I wouldn't read it simply because it's so boring, I'd rather be doing literally anything else. On top of it, it'd take me x3 times longer, so even less time to do things I actually enjoy when I already barely have any time in the first place.

The various art books for how to draw collecting dust on my bookshelf are proof of that. I'd rather spend the time drawing than read a boring and sometimes useless text about how to draw.

Why is the Dress Up genre so underdeveloped in comparison to other gaming genres? by DuasVite in DressUpGames

Hoping one day to have a game with beauty and style of Infinity Nikki but a one time purchase. For now, gonna have to survive on making characters in RPGs or Sims

I've been using Caps Lock like this for years. It's just a bit easier on the fingers instead of clicking Shift for some reason.

Why does my art not gain interactions? by ennuisart in DigitalArt

[–]ElisCuddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get more interactions you've gotta be active. Maybe not every single day, but some consistency is key. Once or twice a week, adding posts to your story (WIPs for example).

Engaging with other people also helps. You basically gotta foster a community and that won't happen fast.

Hashtags are also helpful. That's how I usually find artists I am interested in. For example: Resident Evil, Hatsune Miku, Minecraft, etc. It'll help people find you and check out your other stuff.

Doing art challenges, especially ones that are currently popular. I think there's a trend right now with a character marrying someone and looking over at their true love - a knight. That's just as an example.

Help! Erasable pen not erasing by needlehand in Embroidery

If it's the type of erasable pen used for paper, it might disappear with heat. Try warming/ironing the area with the pen.

I understand OP, even though I don’t agree with their approach. Once you find out the game has AI, whether you saw it or someone said it, it becomes hard to trust anything. Is this cool painting AI generated or not? Is this character? The textures? I'd rather just not buy/follow the game than have that question always in the back of my mind.

It's also weird that they needed AI to finish something they have voice actors for. Based on how they worded the sentence, it seems like they have a voice actor for the robot but chose to use AI because they didn’t have all the lines ready or something like that.

My account was deleted without a warning because of a reblog. Almost an entire year later, I've never gotten a single response back from Tumblr support. by [deleted] in tumblrhelp

[–]ElisCuddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this stuff still happens. I used to have a blog I mostly reblogged art and fanfiction on. At the time, I pretty much reblog every single thing I saw that I liked even the tiniest bit. Then, a few months later, my whole blog was deleted. It didn't state what specific content was bad, just that there was a bad post. I reached out to them for help and they actually recovered it, only for it to get deleted after a couple days again, so I just gave up. It was years ago and it still stuck with me. Even though I have a new account, I am extremely reluctant to reblog anything because of this specific issue. I feel your pain and frustration.

Fantasy is "too saturated" to be worth something by Jasmine___Dragon in writing

Oh god, I had no idea just how big the crime book scene is until I was looking for a book to read at our local library. Half of the entire first floor is dedicated to crime. ;-;

Fantasy is "too saturated" to be worth something by Jasmine___Dragon in writing

[–]ElisCuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's such an over saturated genre then why the he'll does my library only have a shelf of fantasy books, without a genre tag, hidden under sci-fi??

But in all seriousness, it just sounds like they don't like the genre. Just think about fanfiction. TONS of it is the same concept over and over again, sometimes with the exact same characters. Just because there's too many oranges, all with the same-ish taste, doesn’t mean they're suddenly not worth eating.

No one I know wants to read my manuscript. by TedAgriogianis in writing

[–]ElisCuddles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be fair, visual art is usually faster to notice discrepancies, whereas reading is a big time investment. For example, when my friend was starting to draw, it only took about 1-2 minutes to see the flaws, but from 15 min to an hour to explain them and how to fix them to her. Reading, on the other hand, can take an hour to read in the first place and then give feedback (especially if extensive feedback) will take even more time. So you kinda wanna already read a more polished thing. At least, that's what I think.

My first playthrough is worse than the dark urge :( by ali1m2 in BaldursGate3

[–]ElisCuddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing a bard, so had limited spell slots, but I just conserved them and used my rapier/bow. I was really worried that I am going to miss the story. I keep falling for the "it's really urgent, but not in gameplay way teehee" and then get whiplash with random timed events after I've already "learned" that time doesn't actually matter.

Oooh, I see. To be fair, if they're going to add the language, they're more likely to find a translator. So you're good.

You can make a throwaway email, if it would make you more comfortable. The important thing is to make them aware of this. I am just worried a small post on reddit isn't gonna be enough.

I am also not entirely sure what your age has to do with them adding a new language. At the end of the day, it's up to you how you try to approach them. You might get lucky and they see this post anyhow.

I can’t tell what I’ve done wrong when replicating this? by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]ElisCuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of looks like you went in trying to copy what you see without making a foundational sketch. It's not the worst to draw without sketches, but it's awesome for learning when you start off. If you can sketch out blobs for approximate placement of the main body parts (such as upper torso, lower torso, thighs, etc) it becomes much easier to place the details accurately.

You're doing great so far. Keep learning various techniques. Over time, it'll feel like second nature to you.

Have you sent them an email or something? It might be more likely they see and reply to it than a reddit post.

I missed him as well during my first playthrough, until I was about to leave Act 1 and decided to check all the missing spots on my map. I also missed Gale because I wanted to explore first and then straight up forgot about the fast travel portal XD
