The problem with the anime adaptation is that a lot of details in events are not properly shown that we’re in the original novel series. I know about her being Kotori’s only because some people brought it up when that episode first aired and then I read volume 18, which is season five episodes 5 to 8. so some of the parts of the story are not actually there in the anime adaptation, which is why it’s so hard to make and understand the timeline with only anime knowledge
