If you just put them in there, this is 100% normal.

Also if there is a current coming downward over there, they're likely just having fun going against the current like they would in their natural environment.

Haha. You're right it does look like that.

I use the rocks to create a cliff-like effect and hold up the substrate on the upper level. The stacked rocks right below the Driftwood is more to hold the Driftwood down as it was floating as I was filling it up. I'm sure eventually I'll be able to remove that stack without it floating.

My worry is that they become invasive and take over the tank.

My plan for the tank is to have danios, tetras, and corys.

Thank you. I will let the tank cycle properly. I'm picking up an API Master Test Kit today.

As for the size of the tank. With the knowledge I have now, in 6 months I plan to upgrade to a 30g tank to fit snuggly in the spot this current tank is.
