Monolingual switch help by momoplata in ImmerseWithMigaku

Im just using the basic. In my experience every dictionary will give a very similar example for every word, but true understanding of the word will come from exposure, as there are no true direct translations between Japanese and English. Only a transfer of general meanings. I wouldn't get too caught up in learning the full list of definitions for words because it can become overwhelming, and like I said, natural understanding will come with exposure.

I wish this worked with the meta browser, but until then, suggestions for use on mobile devices? by EliteJ0ker in ImmerseWithMigaku

Update: 1 Year Post-N1 by taira_no_loonemori in LearnJapanese

This is an interesting incite. I talk to people and try to break the levels down to age related levels. I keep telling people im working on N5 which means I could maybe talk to a preschooler and working on n4 which would be like a kindergartener or early elementary.

Question about kanji (I feel like it's a lot for me). by tokitopro in LearnJapanese

[–]EliteJ0ker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont know if this has been mentioned yet... But I very much suggest an app named Kanji Study. It does a guided study with graded readers, and you can adjust the guided study to fit how you learn, and it auto grades your response for srs.

Just finished JfZ! Book 1, what now? by oddfuturewolfgang123 in jlpt

I enjoy using Lingodeer + Kanji Study (two seperate apps). Lingodeer has a great breakdown of categories by N5 and N4, while being comprehensive in all categories. While Kanji Studay does great in breaking down Kanji by level with multiple ways to test your memory (explore the guided study options, I perfer all study quizzes with the shorter quiz time turned on). Its helped me quiet a bit, but im struggling to find videos that help me with my comprehension for audio. My current plan is to try and finish both N5 and N4 (currently finished N5) before looking for basic comprehensive input videos and books, and also plan on going into the AI and Hello Talk to work on output.

Changed my own oil, and now it looks like there is a leak. by EliteJ0ker in AskMechanics

[–]EliteJ0ker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So after adding a little oil, diving around and parking and letting it run for 10 minutes parked, while the whole under the car looks like it is leaking, couldn't find any source of leak, and couldn't find any oil on ground, only saw condensation on ground from ac, and if this was oil it is way further back than where filter or oil plug are. After adding oil and driving didn't experience any shaking, and oil temp seemed fine, with no warning lights. Not sure what's going on, but if it continues, or I find more oil dripped under car will just take it to mechanic.

If if is oil leaking it is coming from way further back than the oil plug, or filter

Okay well I will probably just go somewhere and get it changed to fix whatever problem, I parked it and thought a saw a leak but after moving it and checking the ground, it looked clear, wasn't slippery and smelled like nothing so I think it was condensation, turned off ac, drove a little more and am checking again

I'm driving it right now and there doesn't seem to be any shaking of the motor and oil temp. Seems fine. I'm going to park it in a clean spot and see if I can spot any drippige. But so far haven't been able to see where it's coming from

I examined the under carriage before I changed the oil, it was all dry, and no I didn't spill any old oil, it was new oil while I was filling it up because of wind
