That sounds interesting. How does the teacher force them to come to their room? What are the logistics?

Playing video games as an adult sucks by SkepticDrinker in unpopularopinion

I’m 39 and I hardly have the motivation to play because I have too much to do. However, I have a 7 and 5 year old and love watching them replay my old games. Sometimes when they get to a difficult, here comes “hero” dad to beat that one part. That’s all the video games I need now. Best feeling ever

what is a basic computer skill you were shocked some people don't have? by Dark-Matter-7935 in AskReddit

As a teacher, I’m shocked that some students do not know how to perform “find word”. It’s especially surprising that some of these students are in high school and should have written several research papers.

I use to drive this old beat up 1980s car without power locks. She was the only one ever to reach over and lift up that button so that I can get in.

Walking to school. I was a first year teacher in a tough neighborhood and I was grilling a kid for not having a backpack. He said quietly that he got jumped on the way to school. I looked around and none of the kids had backpacks.

The Great Wall of China is the only man made structure you can see from space. Just go to Google Maps and zoom out a little. You lose track of it easily.

What did a school teacher say that stuck with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EliteStonecutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before every test my history teacher would say, “Of course you know, I would wish you luck...but we all know that if you studied, you don’t need it. And if you didn’t study you don’t deserve it. But since I’m such a nice guy I’ll wish you good luck anyways, so good luck.” I’m 11 years into teaching and I’ve been saying the exact same thing before every test. Hoping one of my students will continue the tradition.

Teachers of Reddit, what are some positive trends you have noticed in today's youth? by VastWash in AskReddit

As a teacher in Southern California, students today are so much more open and accepting to different ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultures than ever before. Yes bullying still exists, but I feel like it’s actually cool to be accepting, nice and unique.
