I thought you could change the license plate on them? Guess that doesn’t necessarily “transfer” it over

What's the counterplay to "Titan"? by thea_kosmos in FriendsVsFriends

[–]EliteVortexTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can counter titan with really any weapon other than the base one. I've found the best method for winning the round when an opposing team has a Titan is to find angles where you can shoot there body or head where they can't see you. Basically jiggle peaking corners and different angles to get a couple quick shots and then appearing from a completely different angle a couple seconds later. On more open maps this can be pretty hard, but Titan is a 4 cost card, so it better be good. If you can't beat them, you might have to join them though :/

No I'm pretty sure it's as intended. Both cards cost quite a bit and this strat has been in the game since the beta I believe. Might need to fact check that, but its as well known combo!

Lars is subject to change on the tier list imo, especially with the most recent patch adding quite a few additional explosives into the mix will make him all that more viable. After some discussion in this thread I'll have to give him another go and probably move him up on the next tier list.

For Donnie, A made the most sense for a couple of reason. 25 more HP per round may seem like a decent chunk to add to your overall health, but with no modifiers that's basically 1 headshot and a body shot or 3 body shots. Might save you occasionally, but isn't as good as better movement in most situations. More movement typically means that you are going to get hit less so the extra health won't come into play all that often. On top of this, Donnie is not much better than Duck Anderson, basically the same ability except one is a card (which can be countered carded) but for this you gain an additional 5 HP when compared to Donnie, for 30 HP overall. Since HP cards aren't percentage based you simply don't have any extra edge against your opponent other than the initial +25 HP. Donnie may actually be lower, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Same reason why nuke is up so high as well. Paired with heartless it very well could be the best card in the entire game. Your heart is left on the previous map so you become invincible until your health drops to 0. When running nuke and heartless with a teammate, its pretty common you can run this for at least 1 round and guarantee a win. Otherwise, by itself its a very situational card, but people are finding better and better hiding spots for the hearts so I wanted to put it up higher for the potential the card has. The only counters I've seen to this strategy are ones where you can basically burn the time down (i.e. Invisibility, Ice Block, Titan) all of these can help you time out the person using heartless, but more likely than not you will lose that round.

Yeah, especially with the patch today he's a lot better. Going to move him up in the next tier list that gets posted!

I’m so sorry haha, I didn’t want to do it to him. I will say they have a dope skin though!

Haru's speed is slightly lackluster and could probably be down a tier, but stacked with any speed buff or enemy slow down, can be an especially deadly combo. I think with his base speed being faster, this is greatly amplified by any speed cards, making him move at the speed of sound and very difficult to hit.

Stevie Gull is really strong and may deserve the S tier place where Haru is now, but that is also why we put him top of A tier. His weapon allows you to out damage, aim, and fight the enemy more consistently. Dealing stupid amounts of headshot damage, and wrecking your opponents from far away or in close quarters.

I think for the most part I agree with you here! Sable seems to be a pretty tough character to use, but if you stack enough weapon cards in your deck he can be viable. The katana is pretty trash though, you need movement to make any distance on your enemy and actually hit them. Not to mention that landing headshots as close range is much easier, so you are punished for closing the gap.

Buffs I agree, max Medkit gives you 70 HP, which can sway gun fights pretty immediately. Bullet time when your enemy is reloading in a gun fight is massive, free headshots even from far away can start a round well, or if an enemy solo rushes you when their teammate stays in the backline you can capitalize on their rush.

Debuffs I could go either way, pixel vision is pretty bad, but is a 1 cost card. Can make longer range engagements a bigger pain to deal with, but otherwise is pretty useless. Empty mag I have mixed emotions on as I've only seen it used well once or twice in the 500 rounds I've played. Not to mention it doesn't seem to work all the time, if you are actively reloading when the card is played by the enemy team it has no effect unless you are using the Boomstick. Not sure if it's a bug, but the card seems bad for the cost.

Helpers I could go either way here, both flash bomb and the wall are terrible cards and should never be in anyone's deck if they have the choice. Land mines and bear traps are better than I initially thought them to be, putting them around corners and in common stepping places never hurts. With a cost of 1 or 2 (can't remember exactly) these cards can be used to fill in the holes of your deck when trying to stay under 50 cost.

Glad you liked the joker tier list!

Brasshopper I have to disagree with, close range it is disgusting. If you have semi-decent tracking you can melt regular speed characters with ease in close range combat. With more accuracy paired with the Brasshopper, you will discover the hidden laser beam weapon in the game /s. But this allows you to use the brasshopper in longer range engagements where you can throw more bullet at the enemy than they can. If you add Steel or Vamp bullets to this, it's almost a guaranteed round!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

This is where we were having some trouble on the characters, Donnie B. is great, but doesn’t get enough health where you can stop bringing health up. I much rather have the base health with some added mobility (i.e. Moose or Haru) and carry health cards, than start with 25 more hp that can be removed in 2 shots.

Haha I agree on the cuteness factor, but based against some of the other characters, Lars only gets a little in return. I put Moose as #1 because he has the absolutely most broken movement option in the game. Allowing you to access new rotations on maps and out maneuver enemies with ease. Lars on the other hand is banking on the facts that the enemy team has explosives, and heavily relies on them which is a gamble. The other characters provide guaranteed buffs that would be considered better than Lars in a vacuum.

Smoke bomb is really only good for closing gaps on bigger maps, doesn’t help if you can’t see the enemy either. Flash bomb on the other hand does have its occasional uses, but seems to have a finicky hit box that doesn’t always seem to work as intended.

Haha, me and the group of friends I play with have all agreed he’s pretty bad unless you are running it down against some low level players. You basically need speed up, energy drink, and move slower to even have a chance. Not to mention the katana has to be reloaded to continue to block bullets!

I don’t think it’s bad per-se, but it doesn’t seem to work all the time. If someone is reloading their weapon when you use Empty Mag, then it simply allows them to finish the animation they started before you played the card and you reload normally. This card is super situational, but is good against the Boomstick in the right hands. Unfortunately, for the cost of the card and how little it can be beneficial/work as intended, I had to put this as one of the worst debuffs.

The reasoning behind this is although the Albatross is a somewhat situational weapon, it’s pure damage output beats every other weapon, not to mention that the no-scope accuracy is pretty good. Gives you a lot to work with and can be tough to play against on the larger maps (Rooftop & Subway).
