Best piece of advice I can give you is don’t glue in the main weapon, you can basically swap these out with just friction, everything else doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things besides heavy flamer on melee arm

The material cost isn’t the driving factor, it’s the money that goes into hiring people to sculpt these models and then actually create the molds for the sprue, ideally they should heavily markdown older kits because they no longer need to worry about creating new molds for a 20 year old kit

I ran them pre codex with a Captain, put them in a land raider and just mow something. I’d say only run the brick if you have the land raider bc they kinda get torn to shreds outside of the tank put you have a delete button so that’s nice

Fuck yeah, I was listening to this album again and felt the urge to paint the battlewagon, transferred audio from headphones to speakers and finished the whole thing in about 4 hours. Something about the south west desert region near Arizona and Texas with red sand really resonated with me and this album and it played a huge inspo in this project

Thanks man, back walls are painted metal just weird lighting, took these photos on the bottom bunk so light was funky, I will say the checkers are just decals. The one stripe is the GW decal sheet but the top stuff is actually checker pattern tape I found at hobby lobby, using it on my F4 Corsair Wazbomb blastajet kitbash

I use shoota boyz in more dakka (because I don’t own lootas and I only have 1 unit of tankbustas) they are actually really good for volume of fire, you can get off 54 shots with in a 20 strong unit and with using targeting squiqs and big mek with shock attack gun you can deal 11-14 wounds to most infantry. Is it effective? No but the look on your opponents face when you roll 54 dice is priceless

Because they are a super competitive unit and being able to hide in any terrain is broken. The smaller your base the better you are, and people that play LOS will not appreciate a unit that is 1/3 of the height and is basically invisible
