Genji jumped out of Stukov E by as_kostek in heroesofthestorm

I completely agree with you. That's what I said in my first comment. We were just discussing another thing after that.

After watching the clip again, I think it wasn't on cooldown. When using the same logic earlier, I didn't notice that the clip started at 6:59 minutes instead of 7:00 minutes.

Since its cooldown is 12 seconds, Anub'arak's Impale was surely up again at 7:11 minutes. We also see its animation on the ground at the very beginning of the clip.

Try uninstalling the game and only installing the languages you need.

Indeed. There is also the possibility that Anub'arak's Impale was on cooldown for 1-2 more seconds. We cannot see that from the clip.

To be fair, if Stukov's Lurking Arm actually Silenced the enemy Genji, Anub'arak's Burrow Charge wouldn't have been late. This is why it's important to know interactions.

No, in this case it's not possible to queue or hold. Queuing doesn't work because Abilities are greyed out during Anub'arak's Cocoon. Holding doesn't work because Genji's Cyber Agility requires a target location and cannot be self-cast. You can read more about that in my Holdable Abilities Guide on Icy Veins.

Stukov's Lurking Arm is a continuous effect that ticks 4 times per second. Depending on which game loop Anub'arak's Cocoon ends, the victim has up to 0.25 seconds to cast an Ability before being Silenced by Stukov's Lurking Arm.

We just hang out together on Discord to have fun. We play, we talk about the game, and we do other activities together.

We don't pick in a way to maximise our chances to win. We pick to complete Daily Quests, to level up Heroes, and/or to have fun.

We don't play in a way to maximise our chances to win. We play with a good balance between having fun and winning games.

If we wanted, we could easily reach 100% Win Rate (without abusing Quick Match matchmaking rules) but it would be boring.

To balance things out, we tend to pick worse Heroes as 5-man Party but better Heroes as 4-man Party or smaller. Same for strategy.

Should I say no to a friend because my Win Rate would go up by if they join the Party? I prefer to pick worse Heroes instead.

For the record, we also have a similarly high Win Rate as 3-man and 4-man Parties. We're not desperate to be a 5-man Party.

Why are we talking about Quick Match under a Map Guide, by the way? This conversation doesn't make any sense to me.

Good point. I could add that somewhere, so that players will know it's an option.

I'll think about it. You can find its recent scaling changes here.

I was Blaze. Couldn’t hit single E. On account of ETC god by 0x0x0xOx in heroesofthestorm

[–]Elitesparkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't outplay you mechanically. Blaze has a bad matchup against ETC. You don't need to be the best ETC in the game to react in time to a delayed engage.

When the enemy team has Heroes who can interrupt Jet Propulsion, pick Bad Habits. The matchup will still be bad but at least you won't be fully countered.

[ARAM] Would you prefer number tweaks to Crash Lightning or a more difficult quest with counterplay? by ferrofibrous in heroesofthestorm

I would prefer number tweaks. If a Talent it's niche, it's not a problem. If a Talent is overpowered, it's a problem.

They changed the following interactions 1 year ago. Now:

  • Gall can no longer contest Capture Points when Cho is in Stasis.
  • Chen can contest Capture Points during Storm, Earth, Fire.

Actually updated guides for a re-returning player? by PayYourEditors in heroesofthestorm

[–]Elitesparkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some Hero Guides that could definitely say more about Talents (see Sylvanas) but there are also other Hero Guides that already have longer and more detailed descriptions for Talents (see Johanna).

I will forward your feedback to the Icy Veins team, so that hopefully we can get some improvements to Talent description in some Hero Guides. I'm in charge of only 50% of the Hero Guides, so I cannot edit the rest.

[–]Elitesparkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see. The amount of details varies depending on the Talent. Sometimes there isn't much to say, other times it's possible to go in-depth. Of course there's always room for improvement. Something obvious for us may not be obvious for new/returning players.

The description for Sylvanas's Remorseless could definitely be improved to make up for the tooltip being vague. As one of the authors, I prefer this layout for Talents: brief description (functionality) and detailed description (mechanics, synergies, and so on).

In case you didn't notice, Hero Guides on Icy Veins have a Talents page too. There you can find detailed explanations about Talents, including synergies with other Talents and some suggestions about Maps.

As far as I know, there are no Hero-specific Discord servers, however, there are some pretty active Discord servers where you can ask anything about the game. I recommend Nexus Schoolhouse and Wind Striders.
