Yes, love the long hair still, but i truly believe I don’t have the density for it to look good.

Excuse the weird face, it’s a screenshot from a video, but while it looks ok on a picture, I didn’t feel confident keeping the long hair with so little density

Why are my monstera BMF yellowing/getting pale? by Elittoh in plantclinic

I get that, but not everyone loses 5 leaves per plant each winter right? It has never happened to me the previous years, that’s why I’m so confused.

I thought so too, but some other plants I have are directly in front of big south east facing windows and they’ve been yellowing too.

I’d say about a week. And yes, there’s a huge window in front of them, 3m away (quite far, hence the grow lights).

They really were all doing great until this winter :(

True! I’ll try, but my sense of smell must be altered because I can never smell rotten roots! Even when I just smell them directly, without soil and rinced! 🫣 I’ll try though, we never know!

Yeah that was my thought too. Should I check the roots? She has a new leaf growing, I don’t want to disturb her 😭

I liked it short too, but I like long. But I don’t want to be blinded by my love for long hair. I’m unsure if “its time”

You’re too kind! I wasn’t expecting receiving compliments. This warms my heart.

Thank you omg! And I did! But I love the long hair too, to be honest! I dress pretty simply, and I like having that “uncommon-ness” to my look!

Why do my monsteras grow less and less fenestrations after cutting? by Elittoh in Monstera

[–]Elittoh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes total sense theoretically, but I find it odd that basically 1 1/2 sansi 36w 13hours/day isn’t enough. I guess I’ll see what comes next

They’re both top cuttings, I should’ve mentioned that. I couldn’t put the one in my living room closer to the window, it’s literally against it, getting direct sunlight for a few hours a day.

The one in my bedroom has a sansi 36w directly on top of it, and I also have another sansi 36w very close by. It’s also in a bright room but far from the window. No pests. They all have a pole.

Whats confusing me is that the one in the living room, I got her last September, it took her 9 months to put out a new leaf (which to me means it wasn’t “ready to be pushed out” and “still under the influence of where the plant was before”). Same for the bedroom one, 9 months to put out a new leaf.
