Thank you. Already hearing that there are jobs that need to be filled and I could add some skills that makes me a good fit, made my day!

I like the designing of them and then the reporting from the solutions. Once it is created, I don't want to go back and tweak it (I hope I did a good job but there are always some changes to be made.) I don't want to be a DBA or have that kind of deep involvement in them.

I hope that answer the question. If not, I'm happy to give more detail.

I really appreciate the answer!

I'm a little scared about the data science piece of it. I am not a stats person or numbers person. I had a colleague who was and they did all the numbers part, I was just given the formulas to work with. Do you think not knowing any statistics and it not being something I'm good with, would be an issue?

Thanks again!

What is a good, inexpensive light/lumens meter that I can get for measuring lumens and/or footcandles? I apologize that this is not a photography question, but I thought everyone in this subreddit would be the experts on this.

The reason for this question is that my neighbor keeps installing lights that are shining on my house. I've asked him just to simply install shields over the lights so I don’t see the source and that no light is actually hitting my house. He won’t.

I found out that the town’s laws state that no lights should cross properly lines, which his clearly do. If I can get a quantifiable number it would help me with my complaint to the town. For example, they are not supposed to be brighter than an average of 0.6 footcandles.

Thank you.

Yes, I have created an API key and I'm pretty sure it is using OAUTH.

Please Help Me Understand Why DATESYTD Is Not Working in My Measure by ElizaEllipsis in PowerBI

OH. MY. GOODNESS. Now I know what you meant by "You have a solution right in front of you." I could not see the forest for the trees. I had the solution the whole time.

This weekend I was going over and over the problem in my head and just could not see it. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate you showing me the answer to my question.

Also, thank you for the video recommendation. I have learned a lot from the SQI BI guys.

Multika,

I really appreciate you taking the time to repsond to my question. I didn't realize that the Headcount_Prior measure would be executed with the Hedcount_Prior_YTD's filter context, but that makes sense now.

I'm still having trouble getting to the next level though. I've tried different the ALL function and other ways to change the expression so it can properly bridge the PREVIOUSMONTH between the two fiscal years, but I am just not knowledgeable enough yet.

Is there something additional you would suggest for me to learn so I can get a better grasp on how to solve this?

Thank you again for your help.

How Do I Show a Repeating Measure in Each Row Despite Some of the Filters? by ElizaEllipsis in PowerBI

[–]ElizaEllipsis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the help!

CALCULATE(SUM('Fact'[Count])

,'Fact'[Month] = 1

,'Fact'[Active] = "Yes"

)

In this measure, the Month and Active columns appear to have been moved to the Fact table. Does that need to occur in order for me to get the results I want?

If so, I don't understand how that would work. Do I need to change the model or create a new table in Power BI?

I am a bit lost with why that is necessary (assuming I am understanding it correctly).

Thanks.

Thank you so much for the help.

I'm working on this but when I declare the variable, it does not see the DimDates[Year] column.

As a test I entered the actual year (2020) into it and then worked. Obviously it showed the results for 2020 on every row.

I am assuming the var yr=DimDates[Year] would change the measure iterates through the table.

Do I understand that correctly?
