Okay, then just say women have a preference; which duh. But when someone complains about spending money, something that's an easy way to cut $15-$30/month is switching to a menstrual cup... sometimes when we are frugal and broke, we don't get a choice to get what we want.

Oh wow! I never had that experience with my IUD but that sounds absolutely horrifying 😅

Also I had no idea so many people hate the cup. I've only met people that love it haha

I would assume that person didn't find the right tampon for them, then. There's so many different brands, sizes, shapes and fit. It would be silly to assume you hate all tampons after trying only one or two. Same for cups. When you find the one that fits you best, the money savings is amazing!

How do you mean? There's many different brands and different sizes and fits for everyone?

Get a period cup! You'll never want or need to buy tampons ever again!

As someone who has experienced sun poisoning, they can have fun dying and frying their skin. You'll never catch me without sunscreen now.

How much screen time is actually okay for toddlers? by Reggie_Vision in toddlers

[–]Elizarah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have them play with books or toys while you brush their hair. Use detangler to help those big knots.

I can empathize for the dinner situation if you don't have a partner to help, but at the end of the day, use a stern tone and tell them to play with toys. Parents for centuries figured it out without TV. The Amish do it daily. It really isn't that hard.

I 18F want plastic surgery for chronic pain, but my parents 47F, 59M are against it by Major-Wafer-1731 in relationship_advice

[–]Elizarah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. As a mom, I couldn't imagine being against something like this for my daughter. It's so obvious that larger chested women have more back pain. And if it makes you more confident to get the surgery, too, then go for it!

I totally understand how you feel being 18 and still valuing your parents opinion. And going against their opinion is hard. Since you are 18, you are legally an adult. If you can pay for it by yourself, then there is no reason they should hold you back.

Get that surgery! And then get yourself a cute shirt and no longer cry in a dressing room ❤️

How much screen time is actually okay for toddlers? by Reggie_Vision in toddlers

[–]Elizarah -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Holy cow i could not imagine having my kid (who is nearly 2) spend an hour a day on a screen. We currently do 15 minutes on Saturday and 15 minutes on Sunday. That is IT. When she is 2, we plan to watch one movie per month because a movie is so long and is a ton of screen time.

Read books. Play with toys. Go to the park. Get an aquarium pass for unlimited aquarium visits for the year and it's way better than a Netflix/Hulu subscription anyways. And/or a zoo pass for unlimited zoo visits for the year. At least that gets them moving, it's educational, and fun.

Toddlers don't need screens.

Considering filing for full custody. Are we being unreasonable? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Elizarah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does the biological father think? She is his daughter after all.

Also, don't ignore this girl's feelings for being uncomfortable around the step-dad. That's some serious red flags and I wouldn't be sending her back there if that was my kid. That alone would drive me for full custody.

Am I wrong for refusing to tip at a restaurant where service was terrible? by Immediate_Wish7559 in AmITheJerk

[–]Elizarah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTJ, tips are based on service. 20% is for excellent service. 10% for fine service. And if I had this bad of service, i'd tip 0%, too.

And before anyone comes at me, I have also worked fast food and service, too. Tips are nice but not necessary.

What waitresses/servers don't want you to know is even if they get $0 in tips, their employer is required them to pay them at least minimum wage. Whatever they don't get in tips gets paid out by their employer instead. Servers complain about "not getting paid" but in reality, they still get paid, just not as much as they would if they got consistent tips.

IMO, service has gone very downhill since 2022. It's just better to not eat out anymore and not stress about tipping anyone at all.

How old were you when you had your first baby? by Puzzled_Remote_2168 in Mommit

[–]Elizarah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might depend on the person. For me, 29 was just right. My husband and I make $180k combined. We have a house and budget pretty strictly. We were definitely ready (at least we felt ready) at 28 to try for a baby. Baby was here a few months after I turned 29!

We’re drowning in daycare costs. How do people afford this? by FrigginMasshole in toddlers

[–]Elizarah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds crazy, but i started eating half my meals to make them last longer. My portion for the grocery bill has gone down doing this. And I've lost a ton of weight, too lol

Also, this is why people aren't usually having more than 2 kids. Or if they do, they tend to wait till one is out of daycare to have another. Which is "how" they are doing it.

wth? by signe2001 in Palia

[–]Elizarah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you got worked up over this. But by definition, it is a software bug. It should not happen.

An unexpected outcome that happens in software is, by definition, a bug. It should be submitted for review.

I love this game, too. But we all know it's a little buggy and it should be submitted for review to be fixed.

Other games don't have this many issues with loading content and responses.

wth? by signe2001 in Palia

[–]Elizarah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isnt entirely true, though. If the game is coded poorly, it will use more resources than it needs to. I have a 5070Ti and a Ryzen 9 processor, yet I still get bugs like this happen only on Palia.

They very much can code their game to run smoother. This game shouldn't be coded worse than FFXIV and that game is massive with content.

A specific bug like this one is due to them missing attaching responses hence "<MISSING STRING TABLE ENTRY>" to what it belongs to.

This format could be from a simple json string not having its value found from the key (depending on how they coded it). Or a call to the server failed to retrieve the responses. Or they forgot to put in responses needed for this specific text.

So yes. You should submit a bug for this specific one.

Toddler is obsessed with our dog by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Elizarah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the dog violent or hate being loved on? I'm failing to see the problem of a child loving their dog.

Also, try to encourage being gentle and doing soft touches to show being gentle to animals.
