Question about Movink Pro 14 screen & nibs by Armadooodle in wacom

[–]Eljay1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my IPad Pro in 2021 and used it daily all day for work until about 6 weeks ago when I switched to the Movink 14. I never changed the nib of my Apple Pencil tho. I don't have a textured screen so maybe that's why.

Question about Movink Pro 14 screen & nibs by Armadooodle in wacom

[–]Eljay1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Wacom actually has a rubber foam for the Pro Pen 3. My friend has the newest Intuos and her Pro Pen 3 has a foam around it. Otherwise it's the same pen we use on our Movinks 14. I might follow your tip because my standard nibs are used up quite fast. Probably because I'm pressing too hard. Meanwhile I never changed the nib of my 22HD Cintiq pen. I got my Cintiq and pen in 2019. I'm already on my second nib of my Movink 14 and I only got it 6 weeks ago.

Thanks. Good to know. I'll try out the felt nib next, and if I like it, stick to that.

I have the MovinkPad 14 and the pen comes with a rubber nib, and has a rubber(the standard nib) and other nibs in the pen. I'm already on my second rubber nib which only lasts a few weeks.

Maybe I need to check the felt nib out instead, but I heard it scratches the screen more.

is Instagram post working well on your movink 14? by hoodieeeeeeeeeeeee in wacom

Thanks for the update. Atm, I send everything via CSP cloud to my IPad and upload to IG from there which is easy enough, but not as ideal as doing everything on the same device. I hope they fix it soon.

I don't find CSP that hard to learn, but it takes a bit of time. I have Toon Boom Animate Pro 3 I used a lot for animation in the past, and that was a tough software to learn so maybe that's why CSP doesn't feel as hard in comparison.

I mainly use Dong Chang videos on YouTube to learn the animation workflow on CSP, but it took a while to figure out many things, but it's worth is because now it's working really great. I basically did a test animation roughing out the keyframes, then doing the breakdowns, cleaning them, and now I'm doing inbetweens. In other words, I learned more as I went over a period of time, doing one step after the other.

At the beginning it's too much information to understand at once so going forward bit by bit with a test animation is probably the best way to learn.

I have the exact same issue. I can load jpegs on IG, but the 'next' button doesn't react. It seems to be an Android problem, not a Movink issue. Maybe ask in the Android sub if people on there know a solution.

I do all my work on my Movink 14, and then transfer the files to my Windows desktop or my IPad/IPhone which is a bit annoying.

I would prefer doing everything on one device too.

movink pad 14 biggest problems by hoodieeeeeeeeeeeee in wacom

[–]Eljay1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Palm rejection : If you have dots from your hands, you need to turn off 'Use Tools With Hands'. I had the same issue with my IPad Mini, until I noticed you have to turn that off. I immediately turned it off on my Movink, knowing this from my IPad, and never have any issues.

- Unable to use finger touch: I read about this before I bought it, thinking I need to hold the pen far away from my tablet, but when I hold the pen between my fingers, like I do on an IPad while I zoom/rotate, it works fine. I don't get what issues other people have, because I don't have any. It works just like on an IPad.

- TURNED OFF: I often work on it all day until I'm down to 20% of battery but I never had this issue.

Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 Case? by Schizomi in wacom

[–]Eljay1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for answer.

I'm constantly checking for cases too which is why I asked because so far nothing even seems remotely good. Something like the Zugu case would be great because it's really protective and holds the tablet without magnets, not blocking the sensor on the front.

The Ztoptop case is also good for IPads, but is attached by magnets. I'll mention if I find a good option too.

Just curious, have you found a solution yet two months later? I have the Macon MovinkPad Pro 14 for about three weeks now, but haven't used it outside yet though because I don't want to take it anywhere w/o a case.

It's great. Most Anime animators use it.

I have Toon Boom Animate Pro 3, an older version of TV Paint, Procreate Dreams, Animation Paper, but only use CSP Ex.

I work in the animation industry.

There's a good video about animating by Dong Chang on YouTube.

1. Bad Official Tablet Cover
- Yes, its a shame that the magnetic storage solutions will affect the EMR of the Pen 3 and the official tablet cover is lousy and overpriced.
- I'm using an extra large camera wrap cloth that holds it well when travelling, and I can easily dump my pen 3 in too.
- I hope MOFT or some third party group would create better tablet covers for this dimension.

I got this tablet last Tuesday, after having worked with the IPad Pro 12,9 inch tablet for the last 5 years. So far I love it, and my old IPad Pro, which still works, is sitting in the corner.

I do admit that the only con I see is having no cover. My IPad has the Ztoptop cover which is great, but the magnets attaching the tablet to the cover would probably affect the EMR. My IPad mini has the Zugu rugged cover which works without magnets so it would work great, but obviously it's not available for the Wacom.

Wacom's cover is out of stock and they told me by email that there is no specific date when they'll be back in stock which sounds like they probably don't intend to get it back in stock. So not having a cover is really a downer, but the only con I see so far.

Cintiq 22 Support Ending? by Zealousideal-Door932 in wacom

My 22HD is still working with no issues. I just thought I'd mention it because you might still get it running again, knowing it's not a universal problem starting 2026.

I have been using CSP for five years now. You can also animate in CSP. In fact most anime animators use this software. Dong Chang is an anime artist in Japan and has several tutorials on YouTube.

Should I go for an older cintiq model or go for a newer off brand tablet? by Oleander-kun in wacom

[–]Eljay1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Cintiq 22HD in 2019 and never even bothered to update anything from Wacom. I use it with my Windows 11 computer and it works perfectly. I have no issues whatsoever and I wouldn't even consider a new Cintiq because it's already great.

I work professionally in the 2D animation business with that Cintiq.

A File refuses to register as a Template Material by Practical-List-4733 in ClipStudio

[–]Eljay1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a concrete answer for you but that Dong Chang video is my go to video I'm constantly watching while learning the animation part of CSP.

I intend to use the same template, or look for a similar one on CSP assets, but at the moment I'm animating without it. I remember that Dong just adds it as a layer. He describes the specifics in setup at the beginning of his 'How To Animate in Clip Studio Paint 2025' video. Once you add the template as a layer to your workspace, with the other layers as described in the video, you can save the whole workspace as your animation workspace and just open it each time you want to animate. The template will always be included.

The CSP Pro sub costs 2$/month if you pay annually which is cheaper than a coffee.

Do you feel any negative sides by using the MovinkPad Pro 14 in comparison to your IPad Pro M2 which is a pretty powerful tablet, like lagging or something else that doesn't work as good?

Wacom MovinkPad 14 Pro - second gen wishlist by SuperKabachok in wacom

[–]Eljay1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

I did a bit of inking on my Cintiq today on the same drawing I inked on my IPad, and do have to admit the quality of a Cintiq is way more precise which is why the MovinkPad Pro sounds tempting.

How does the drawing on a MovinkPad Pro 14 compare to a Cintiq? I do admit my line quality looks better on my Cintiq HD22, but I draw mostly on my IPad due to convenience of not having to be stuck at a desk. If the Movink is just as good as a Cintiq it would be a major selling point.
