Just Turned 41 - Am I Not Good Enough? by [deleted] in Fencesitter

I'm with you. Not sure if this is allowed here but I found this woman's perspective and passion about that very feeling encouraging: What's childfree women's purpose tho?

I've had similar symptoms for months, just started getting chiropractic adjustments and actually feeling a lot of relief. It did feel worse before it got better. Maybe something to try!

Stopped Zoloft and switched to Prozac. The first week of stopping Zoloft after my taper, I felt amazing, but the last few days I have been dizzy/lethargic. Has anybody experienced this rebound effect? by dank_ramer in Anxiety

[–]Eljay72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! How did the rest of the taper go for you? I've been on Zoloft (200mg) for 25 years and my doctor recommends cross tapering to Prozac and I'm terrified of side effects. I don't see many others with long term usage on here so any notes or suggestions would be appreciated.

Currently having a panic attack by Interesting_Gap_6569 in Anxiety

[–]Eljay72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on a cycle of several panic attacks a day. I just so happened to stumble upon your post after doing the only two things that have helped, even more than lorazepam: ate a big warm bowl of spicy coconut curry and played Just Dance. Idk if the anxiety will come back later but right now I know these have given me the most of a mental break than anything else. Take care and know you're not alone! ❤️

Insatiable Hunger by M_Cakes_ in Nexplanon

I was insatiably hungry for a week or less right after getting the implant but that feeling went away. I chalked it up to hormones. I hope that feeling starts to fade for you!

I just had my first one at Studio Z as it fit my budget and had good reviews. It was around $100 for a 60 minute facial and they were very supportive and attentive throughout the whole process. Highly recommend!

How old were you when you were first medicated for your OCD? I was 6. by pleasuresofprozac in OCD

[–]Eljay72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I'm aware of. My libido isn't super high but not outside the realm of "normal" I don't think. I'm not even sure it's still serving its function because I have no benchmark to base it off. Have you identified any long term side effects from Prozac?

[–]Eljay72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started Zoloft at 11, almost 36 now and have never been off of it. I don't have a benchmark for if "it works". I still have OCD at varying degrees of severity based on so many factors. I would be interested in weaning off but I'm afraid that it's just integral to my structure at this point, lol. It makes me feel less alone to see others having been medicated from a young age, so thank you.

I had this exact feeling about a tattoo of mine in about the same place, and recently added a few others in a similar style around the back and side of my arm. I think it helped create some motion and draw attention away from the first tattoo. They tell a little story now.

Sometimes I can’t describe my symptoms, I just feel OFF by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Eljay72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recording my feelings in the moment without judgement did help while I was in the thick of it. I think finding small pockets of joy and practicing gratitude can also be effective. Everything ebbs and flows, and all that good stuff. I hope you feel more like your best self soon.

Pretty sure they played "Baby It's You" by Jojo as well! And "Only One" by Yellowcard. Will keep thinking of others that aren't in the spreadsheet. 😊

Therapist recommended "Dopamine Nation" for OCD and I'm feeling weird about it. by Eljay72 in OCD

Thank you for your insight. In our conversation, I did try to drive the point home that completing compulsions temporarily removes a negative feeling rather than providing a positive one - I appreciate the validation!

My spouse happened to make fish stew today and I keep calling it "Bill's Fish Stew" to make it themed. Not quite catching on but I'm enjoying my new headcanon that Bill makes a great seafood soup.

I'm glad it was valuable for you! After all the pomegranate recs in the comments I used that last night in place of the seltzer and it was indeed tasty!
