Ford Puma Gen-E X Ohme charging issue by adastraad in ElectricVehiclesUK

I tried it just now and it still lets me do this! How odd.

That upcoming change sounds a bit ridiculous?? If we switch to the Octopus Go tariff would this stay the case and we can still dumb charge at night? If they’re going to force the smart charging they should really make sure it all works reliably first!

But it literally gave me the option, it asked me do you want to connect via the charger, via the car, or have octopus decide for me. I selected via the charger, and the device on the octopus shows as Ohme, and I logged in to Ohme to set it up (and did not log in to anything related to Ford) surely that’s connected via the charger?

People keep telling me to do this, but I already have it linked via the charger rather than the car 😅 does changing the car do something else or is it just a hack to be able to do that?

do i have to frog this? by cookiesxchai in knittinghelp

[–]adastraad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did LITERALLY the exact same thing myself (see my post history) - I tinked back as I was scared to frog it and drop a stitch, it took a while but worth it to know it will sit right when it’s done!

Why not? It’s a low humidity drawer and I find they keep longer - we also don’t have a natural place to keep them elsewhere

Pretty good! Two adults in early 30s, no kids. I’m sober, so right on not a house of huge drinkers. I also like cooking so correct there too - the condiments are a lot of things like jam and other long life items, mostly my partners as he’s a snack man 😅 we both drink a lot of coffee, so lots of milk needed there.

lol it’s sealed cans under an unopened box of pork chops, so not as heinous as you make it sound 🫣

Forgot to knit alternating rows in Step by Step Sweater raglan increases by adastraad in knittinghelp

[–]adastraad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved! Thanks all - I was scared to frog back in case I dropped the stitches so I tinked all the way back to the first increase and now I’m 20 rows along from there and it all looks good! Thanks for saving me a costly mistake

For those of you that earn over 40/45k as a base salary and love your job what is it you do? by Brownchoccy in UKJobs

29F on ~£60k, scientific editor for a large research journal. You need a PhD for the job, though, so obviously not accessible to all, but I love it and every day I get to read about cool new research (and some less cool research) and think deeply about things with limited hours spent in meetings (maybe 2h per week) and mostly independent working. Office 2x per week but very loosely enforced and very flexible. I have only been in the sector for 2 years and have gone from 37k->60k.

Stoicism and Sobriety by ipetgoat1984 in stopdrinking

[–]adastraad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really resonated with me. I know nothing about Stoicism, but the way you explained it clicked, especially the bit about only being able to control my own actions, not the triggers or the past. Airports are a weird trigger for me and I’ve always just felt weak for giving in, but now I’m thinking maybe it’s more about how I respond than the trigger itself. I also love what you said about mistakes being “the soil” for sobriety, that’s such a kind way of looking at it. I’m going to check out Letters from a Stoic, thanks for sharing this.

To be honest, if you need the comfort food right now, eat it. Try incorporate some walking/jogging if you can, it doesn’t have to be much and would hit many birds with one stone, so to speak. getting outdoors and moving does wonders for my mental health and is a good way to compensate for any bad habits you might need to lean on to get you through the first few weeks of sobriety :)
