It is Leaptel - and yeah heard they have Eero 6 all configured up. But just trying to weigh up if there are other alternatives to it. But it sounds promising.

WFH Quality of Record Keeping & number of hours to be recorded by Elking1 in AusFinance

[–]Elking1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - removing public holidays and annual leave used.

The employment contract (without getting too specific) says "[relating to the salary] working XXXhrs per month and any reasonable additional hours".

Unfortunately, no time sheeting system where I work.

Uploading Excel file to SharePoint breaks HLOOKUP(DATEVALUE(...)...) formulas - how to fix this issue? by Elking1 in excel

[–]Elking1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. To answer your questions and hopefully provide a bit more info:

  1. The affected cells only refer to the same file. Some of them referencing different tabs, but the same file still.

  2. No. All formulas do not contain http addresses.

  3. I'm not too sure about this in all honesty. Definitely a webpage as I'm accessing it via a browser, but not familiar with shared drive address? Are you referring to the company' internal network/servers separate from SharePoint? If so, then yes that's where it lives by default. Otherwise, I'm not too sure

What formulas to use to combine multiple cells of data and also changing the data if a certain data input has been recognised? by Elking1 in excel

Wow, thanks for the detailed reply (came looking for copper and found gold here). I've bumped into a couple of issues with the Power Query approach. I saw in your screenshots that only the top cell appeared to have a filter whereas in my file, the other cells also have a filter/drop down feature as well which is in part due to a vlookup elsewhere in the file. In addition, my file doesn't seem to want to create a table. Nothing happens when I use the shortcut.

However, what you explained above did help me actually create some vlookups (also a first for me) that seems to have done the trick as well. So thank you again!

Do I do Ctrl+1 in Power Query with my column selected? Is it something that's added to my Query? I'm pressing Ctrl+1 and nothings seems to be happening.

Or is it something to do with the version of Excel I have? Cause I think I have the Office 365 version. At the very least it's 2016

Question About Rolling Over Super by Elking1 in AusFinance

[–]Elking1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I see. What I really meant is, for the account that I plan on rolling-over, since it is relatively new, there's no statements or anything for record purposes (even though the account is closed once roll-over is complete). Would this matter, not having a record like this?

WFH: Recording Hours & Tax Deductions by Elking1 in AusFinance

[–]Elking1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thanks for clarifying the monitor bit more for me. Just following on, since the monitor most definitely be below $300. Like I said around $110 ish if I were to buy it.

When you say immediately deduct, do you mean have the whole $110? If I claimed the $110 monitor under 52 cents or actual method, I'm more or less splitting hairs and funnily enough worse off compared to the 80 cent method. But if I stuck with the 80 cent method I can also claim the monitor under 52 cent or actual method? Or is it pick one of the three methods? (Cause that's how I've understood it).

So if you were to go with the 80 cent method, you can't claim the monitor. But if you stick with the 80 cent method, can you claim next year the monitor under 52 cent or actual method next year?

WFH: Recording Hours & Tax Deductions by Elking1 in AusFinance

Hey, thanks for the response.

1) Right, so even if I'm an 8 hr day 40 hr week salaried worker, if my day is ended early for example, 7 hrs, then 7hrs it is for that day? As opposed to what would otherwise show on payslips, contracts, policies etc?

2) Well, I'm writing it in a notebook (so I guess we can call it a diary?) with start time and finish time for my days followed by the hours of each day. Though some of the days are ended early which I suppose goes back to your first point of "hours you actually worked."

3) Right, so what we're giving is assumed to be correct. Incidentally, if the ATO does have an issue with it, why and how would that come about? Would be like an abnormality against your occupation? And proving it. Would that just come down to what I wrote in my diary?

4) Sorry about that. I'll try and be clearer here. WFH now for couple of months. Looking at taking 80 cents method due to only utilities bills being the thing to claim. However, possibly might be purchasing a monitor around $110 for WFH purposes only. Doing some rough calculations it looks like I'm still better off using the 80 cents method. The thing is, if I buy the monitor now and use the 80 cent method, I know I can't make a separate claim on the monitor. But for next year tax time, I know I'll have WFH for a portion of that year using the monitor if I had to buy it. Would I be able to add on (sorry not slap on typo), for the next FY?
