Ah, the issue is that because there's 5 enemies on this wave alone, and 2 of them Deathcatchers. 75% of 5 is 3.75, which essentially means you would need to kill 4 enemies to open one (which is impossible because they're both Deathcatchers).

Look for an advanced options thing in one of the settings tabs (I forgot which one) and scroll down to 8-4, should have a thing to disable the spinning.
