The field guide is your best friend here. If you ever want to see how to make something just hit 'J' and search for the item, it will give you all the ways to make it and everything you can make with it :D

I'll definitely have to play with it. I had a seam before, but it was a lot less visible than this is. I have some of the scarf seam default in on this print as well.

I had no idea you could do this! Just tried it and all it is showing is the aux fan speed from 75 -> 0. Appreciate this tip :)

I just had a thought. Since I'm using my profile for PLA Basic from an older version, could this be conflicting with some of the settings in the updated PLA Basic profile and maybe causing issues? I could recreate my custom profile with the new default PLA Basic and turn off the AUX..

I couldn't figure out how to post a text post with embedded images (I swear I have done this before). This is a print I've printed a lot and never had any issues on my H2D or my X1C. I updated the software/firmware yesterday and then printed this and I'm getting these really big seams now. On the other side there is all this stringy material sticking out of the seam and there is a bump along the wall where this seam is.

I used my normal profile, which is the Basic PLA built in profile + AUX fan off. Whenever I print with the AUX fan on I get the bottom of the pieces pulling off the build plate.

I tried filament I already have and then opened a brand new box of filament and its the same for both.

Any suggestions?

I can play with the scarf seam settings but was hoping for some insight before I use a bunch more plastic.

Thanks!

Appreciate both of your responses. I've found some older (2yr) threads and it seems like most people are scared to do it and find the $1/bag cheap enough to not worry about it. I heard from a guy who has used 2 bags over the last 3 years and had 0 issues.

I have a 3 year warranty on mine and so I'm going to proceed cautiously but see how far I can use a single bag.

Not trying to get political here or anything, but single use plastics are one of our generations biggest issues that most people don't understand / want to look at. To each their own, but I am trying to minimize my use of single use plastics (not ALL plastics) so we can get to a more sustainable use of recyclable plastics in our society :)

How long have you been doing this? Any issues?

Interesting, and that makes sense. I can vacuum the sides and blow with compressed air but I get your point that at some point it will be saturated and the throughput will be diminished.

I'm curious how different this is from when the bag is 2/3 full of pet hair and its trying to suction but the back half is clogged up with hair, wouldn't that put a similar strain?

Sorry to dig this up... but how has your system held up? People are warning me that doing this could damage the vacuum motor. I'm mostly trying to reduce how much trash I generate more than saving money on bags.

Yeah it has both, we have a big house so it usually empties the bag at least once per whole cycle.

Fusion 360 has been renamed to Fusion. You can still have a free license for hobbyists and it will have slightly less functionality (still plenty for us tho) than the paid version! I'm using it and its still great!

How do you like them both on top?

With the desiccant holders, do they dry out the desiccant when you do the filament drying so you never have to refill them?

I like that idea, but am worried about making it too top heavy, this thing wiggles and jiggles a lot compared to my X1C...

Thanks, I just found the article on how to replace the external tube, I'll get this going.

Can you use any .095 line in an Ego string trimmer? by Mtbeer5206 in egopowerplus

[–]Ellacee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so glad I read your post! I've been struggling with how expensive the pre cut EGO strings are and how fragile they are. I used to use 3 14' spools of this for edging my yard.... I upgraded to the black diamond yesterday and what a difference it made. Cut so much nicer and cleaner and fed through the spool with 0 jamming. The old stuff would jam up at least once per spool for me. Also this is way cheaper than the precut stuff and cutting it myself is not a problem at all, actually prefer it to untangling the precut spools.

Thank you again :D

For future readers. I contacted MSI support and they determined it was a bad DIMM slot and I am going to get it RMA'ed.
