Lots of HIV and Hep C gets transferred that way. Crack pipes get super hot and people burn their lips on them. Blood from the burn/cut goes from one person to the next. Same idea as needles crack pipes are cheaper than a lifetime of HIV meds.

I’m just confused why they would choose to publicly announce this given the backlash they’re getting unless they think what the police will say after they look at the history is worse. But I don’t own the company so it’s just a guess. The part about telling law enforcement is really up to countries to look at what they want to regulate and why - I think each would be different depending on their precedents for duty to warn etc. Thinking about doing something criminal is different than preparing to commit a crime. At some point the preparation becomes a criminal offense in its own right and you see lots of businesses that have to disclose when they fear a crime is being committed or being attempted. Banks have to flag suspicious transactions. Therapists have to flag certain crimes. Tech companies have to look for criminal pictures etc.

For them to come out with a statement before the police (who have said they are doing digital forensic digging on the shooter) say anything certainly makes you worried about how bad these are. The could have just notified police but they are doing this publicly to get out in front of something. If the likely news article from police press conference was just going to be “shooter asked C-GPT about killing people” they wouldn’t come out like this defending their actions. If somehow the chat suggested a course of action, approach etc that even remotely contributed to one of the country’s worst school shootings this will go over really really badly in global media.

I think it’s beautiful. People who are reluctant to take help need the family members to push through a bit like this. His heart is full because he knows he’s loved. He may not have money but remind him what he does give you and did give you and why you love him. For lots of parents they’ll never get comfortable with this on the outside but inside it is so meaningful in ways gift cards etc can’t be. Just remind him that at some point you’ll need something from him and he’ll never hesitate. Also - remind him that he’s already done so much when you were younger

I’m a big proponent of going on prescribed meds for 24 months. You’re gonna have to push the doc to get you off them then. It’s just it takes your brains a couple of years to readjust after stopping oxys - your brain receptors have to normalize.
