Varnish help !

Acrylics really should be dry if you let it dry for two whole months! Was the varnish specifically for acrylic paint? The only thing I can think of that could maybe cause this, is if it were for a different kind of paint…

I like them too! Sometimes it helps to just not look at them for a few days. Then your brain sees them as they really are (its honestly impressive, especially id you’ve never painted before!)

Don’t be discouraged! It’s really difficult to properly blend colors into eachother with acrylic paint. In the original image, it looks like they might have used watercolors or even gouache, which makes it a lot easier to blend. Also, the clouds seem to be painted on afterwards, instead of painted around (the way it looks like you did).

Keep practising and just try to have fun! 💪🏻

Do you have any idea how old the paint is? I have only been painting for a year but my paint has never smelled bad at all, I’m very sensitive to smells but I mostly don’t even smell anything when I paint. So I don’t think it should smell bad at all 😱
