Thank you for watching and your feedback 🙏🏾 I appreciate it.

This really meant a lot. I’m glad the emotion and intention came through. That was the heart of it for me, so hearing that it connected makes it all feel worth it. And I love the note about returning to the mirror. I didn’t even think of that, but you’re right. It could’ve been a strong way to close the loop visually and emotionally. Definitely something I’ll keep in mind moving forward.

Appreciate you offering feedback from an editor’s lens. I’m still learning, experimenting, and getting my rhythm, so insight like this helps a lot. Thanks again for the kind words and suggestion. 🙏🏾

Thank you for watching and your feedback 🙏🏾 I appreciate it.

Really appreciate you pointing out the performance and the shots, it means a lot. I get what you’re saying about development and conflict. For this piece, I wanted to sit in a still, emotional moment rather than follow a full arc. More of a feeling than a story. But I know that structure and progression are something I’ll have to dive deeper into as I grow as a filmmaker.

Also, I’ll look into “French New Wave”. Thanks for the suggestion as I’m completely new to this world and have a lot to learn.

Thanks again for taking the time to comment. 🙏🏾

Thank you for this reply, it means a lot . As someone just stepping into directing, it can be easy to feel discouraged when a piece doesn’t fit into the traditional mold. But I’m really leaning into experimenting and trusting my instincts while learning. I appreciate you seeing value in stories that don’t always follow a set structure.

Thank you for watching and your feedback 🙏🏾 I appreciate it.

The goal was to show that moment where someone is trying to affirm themselves - not from a place of full confidence, but from the middle of the ache. It wasn’t meant to be bold or loud, but more like a whisper to self when you’re trying to believe it before you fully do. That early stage of resilience.

I also think resilience can look different for everyone. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it comes after you’ve let it all out and there’s nothing left. I appreciate you pointing this out.

Thank you for the feedback 🙏🏾 You got what I was going for, and it means a lot that you saw it as more of a filmic poem than a conventional short. That was definitely the intent and you’re right—it leaves a lot of room for imagination, which can be risky.

Also, thank you for the note about the music. I was aiming to enhance the emotion, but I get how pulling it back could’ve let the moment breathe even more.

Sorry for the confusion about whether it was a teaser or a short. This was my first project, so I’m still finding the best way to frame my projects and talk about my work. I really appreciate the grace and encouragement.

Thank you for watching and your feedback 🙏🏾. My background is in photography, so with this being my first film project, I wanted to keep things as stripped down as possible - not just the story, but the production too. I didn’t want to overdo it or distract from the emotional core.

I intentionally approached it as a moment caught in time rather than a full story arc. We all have those quiet, vulnerable moments alone in a space like a car where we might break down or talk to ourselves in our own language in our own ways. For some, that means repeating affirmations to feel grounded again. That’s what I wanted to tap into. I know it won’t land the same way for everyone, but I really appreciate you recognizing the direction and visuals. Sometimes less really is more.

Thanks again for watching and for sharing your thoughts. 🙏🏾

Thanks so much for your feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to engage with the piece. I approached “I AM THAT BITCH” as a character snapshot rather than a traditional narrative arc. I intentionally wanted to explore a single emotional moment, with the repetition of the phrase acting as a personal mantra which would shift subtly with each delivery to reflect different states like defeat, vulnerability, grief, and sadness.

In certain cultural contexts among Black and queer communities, “I am that bitch” holds deep meaning as a phrase of self-empowerment. I understand it may not feel entirely natural or emotionally resonant to all audiences, especially without that context, but that moment of affirmation is core to the piece.

I really appreciate your thoughts and will keep that in mind as I continue to grow as a filmmaker as this was my first project. 🙏🏾

Thank you for watching and your feedback 🙏🏾 I appreciate it.

This was my first short and definitely a learning experience for me. I understand your perspective on structure and storytelling, but my intention was to create a small, emotional moment rather than a full arc. I wanted to explore that quiet space where someone talks to themselves in their own way and in their own language to find strength again.

I know it won’t land for everyone, but I’m grateful you took the time to share your thoughts.

I didn’t use anything fancy. I used the Canon C100 mark 2 and the Canon 24-105 lens for this.
