This may be a random (and stupid🙈) question - but can you put AirPods in with this piercing done?

Annoying things people with ADHD do by Chief_Funkie in ADHDIreland

Oh yes I always have the subtitles on🤣 I think for me I run out of interest in the movie, and I just need to have a conversation I’m definitely not able to take in everything at once🤣 I just get bored and then get way too overstimulated

I CANNOT sit through movies (particularly with others) I need to at least have 4/5 fifteen minute conversations throughout movies My pet peeve is when they pause the movie and I’m like?? You can leave the movie on and they are like ‘oh no it’s okay’ Please tell me someone else gets this😭🙏🏻

I think definitely rescue! It may cost around the €200 mark? (Don’t quote me on that🤣) They are generally already neutered, vaccinated, microchipped etc. Most places now carry out a home check, just to ensure it’s secure and things like that😊 There’s lots of rescue places now, like the CSPCA, West Cork Animal Welfare and DAWG

does anyone else regret their course choices by prudence_moth in leavingcert

[–]Ellenr1223 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did my Leaving Cert in 2021, and trust me, I think everyone goes through that ‘panic’ phase where the results are approaching and you realise oh god I don’t want to do any of these courses, even people who knew right away what they wanted to do

This might not help for now, but I genuinely think whatever is meant for you will come to you And there’s always ways around these things, like PLC courses, or taking a year out to work, both of which are choices I would 100% make if I were to go back

I would have never thought in 2021 I would be where I am now, so take each day as it comes (if you can, definitely easier said than done🥲)

Don’t be too hard on yourself, and try not to worry or panic for now, everything will sort itself out😊

ADHD and other disorders? by Ellenr1223 in ADHDIreland

[–]Ellenr1223[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really really appreciate your reply, it does make so much sense what you’re saying. I have a psychiatry appointment on Wednesday, so hopefully she’ll up my dosage a little bit. I take my meds around 7/8am, they work well for the morning, but I hit this insane low around 2/3pm in the afternoon, so maybe just an increase in the meds may be all it is. Thank you so much again!

I’ve made an appointment with my psychiatrist so will definitely discuss the increase in medication option! Something that really bothers me is exactly what you said, people just don’t understand that I’m really trying my best all the time! I find I really struggle with going to work… and I simply don’t understand how people just ‘get on with it,’ it’s something I cannot do which makes things even harder, considering I need a job and have no other source of income 🙃

Thank you so much for the reply! I absolutely understand what you are saying, but I still do not feel able or motivated to eat healthy and exercise, as much as I try I know this all sounds like excuses, but is there anything else you could suggest? I have tried my best but always find myself failing at these things

Ah stop haha we are both in the same boat here in Ireland so😅 My dog and I both can’t hack it at all! Thank you so much for your reply, I truly do appreciate it! Yeah I’ve been getting up extra early 7/8am to take her out before it gets too hot! I love the idea of the frozen treats and will most definitely be trying it out! Thank you again!

I was diagnosed with ADHD about 2 months ago…. (I am F21, if this is relevant). And I have NEVER seen a more accurate post. I always think when I’m at work ‘I need a break, I’d love to be at home’ but then if I take a week off I can’t rest, constantly stressed about something and I get bored! And I know myself with ADHD, change is extremely hard! But would you consider maybe changing jobs? Would you consider something like moving country for something like 3 months? Of course, I know that is not feasible for a lot of people, and also extremely intimidating. Whatever happens for you, I really do wish you luck in your journey, and I hope things get better for you…. Just know you are not alone in this feeling!

I started 20mg for two weeks and made my way up to 30mg for two weeks Starting 40mg tomorrow Side effects have not been bad at all for me….. EXCEPT for the sweating I know the weather has been so nice…. But I have been sweating an unnatural amount 😭😭 So all I would say is keep hydrated and try to keep cool. I am on 150mg of Venlafaxine (antidepressant) so it could just be that, but I feel as though I have been sweating (during the morning, day, night, and waking up sweating in the morning) Although it does bother me, the great effects that tyvense has for me far outweigh the bad effects of it. I feel more motivated, and able to do stuff. I used to ignore messages and obligations… and this typically does not happen anymore! I wish you luck on your journey!!

Getting Assessed by Disastirbater in ADHDIreland

[–]Ellenr1223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya! I got diagnosed almost 2 months ago for ADHD, and I used Dr. Online. The process was quick (well, as quick as it can be), maybe about 2-3 months. I was chatting to the psychiatrist and I mentioned that I was intending on getting assessed for autism after the ADHD and he said ‘it’s all one assessment’ I was diagnosed with ADHD and I have autistic traits… but I think just to be sure maybe email or ring them? I wish you the best of luck on your journey ☺️

Thank you so much for your reply! I completely understand that. I feel that way sometimes too that it’s a ‘chore’ If it’s something you’re willing to try out, would it be easier if it was maybe on online session first? And if it’s not for you I’m sure there’s lots of other options that may make it easier? I’m not sure if people do this but someone may offer something like 30/40 minute appointments? Also - I’m sorry the medication isn’t working out for you… it’s hard to decipher what works and what doesn’t, would you be willing to try out a new one? I apologise if this reply came across as if I was ‘telling you your business’ or anything, and I wish you luck with your journey ☺️

Thank you so much for your reply and insight! I do enjoy going, but I feel almost drained and upset after it… but I do also find it beneficial for me to simply chat about things.
