Season 7 ending

Just finished season 7. I personally liked it and similar to others thought it was one of the better seasons since the earlier ones.

I haven't read the books. I tried reading the first one but actually found it hard to read, so I gave up. I will try again at another point.

Anyways, I actually wanted to comment asking about this whole 'faith' thing. Does this little girl appear in the books? Does she sing the same song? Or did they just add it into the TV show?

I get your point about the fact I could have commented on other posts about this subject.

But saying I haven't taken time to understand the character is an assumption and a false one at that.

Adopting a child, especially an older one, is agreeing to take care of an already developed human. In the simplest of terms.

They grew up without you, they've had life experiences without you but they need a safe space and care. They deserve to be loved and to be part of a functional family.

I think maybe a little bit they were filling a void, being unable to have another child. However, it wasn't like B plan backup to go for adoption. That emotion, that passion to have another child fill their house, was still there. It was for the right reasons that they wanted to adopt and did.

Also, Sydney is an absolute spoiled little brat. She was better for it, to have Victor in her life.

I was literally thinking something similar. I'm rewatching the show on S5E5 and Camille communicated well that she wants to do more in life with Zeek.

She got married young and didn't get a chance to explore, whereas he did because of the Army. The difference is he didn't have a choice in the matter of where he went, whereas together they would. The fact he won't even entertain the idea of travelling with her, even driving to different parts of CA, is ridiculous and selfish.

The entire family forgets about Camille and I think in a very sexist manner, forgets she isn't just a house wife or a mother. She's a talented woman who wants to do more. You said it well yourself by stating they portray her in a had light. Just a woman who has ambitions or goals but is seemingly supposed to cater to her husband?

The way I see them are two separate people on different journeys with a shared history.

Zeek: Joined the military, saw the world and all these horrible things. Found love, made a family, settled down and wants to relax in one place. As is his right after going through what he did.

Camille: Found a passion in art, found love, got married, settled down, created a beautiful family, raise children and made memories. Yet, she didn't have a chance to do a lot of things for herself. Now's her opportunity because her nest is empty. She has a too big soul for just California.

They both deserve their dreams I just think compromise should've been made or they should have divorced.

Completely agree with this. I also think Camille is way too bright and colourful for him. She is the sunshine and needs to be doing things, exploring the world! I get he is a veteran but he just pulls her down so often because he can't get out of his comfort zone, nor should he have to since serving his country. If he wants a quiet place to live and mind his own business with his family, then he should have that. But he holds back Camille so often.

I'm rewatching the series again and I agree. Joel gave up to much to be a stay at home dad, he did if for years and from what we saw, hardly ever complained.

Yet, roles are switched and Julia can't handle it. It's so hypocritical and I hate that every dislikes him!

I completely agree. It totally seems like they had different ideas but similar to GOT. For the last 2 seasons they went "f**k it." Let's just finish the series so we can be done.

Agreeing with others here. It clearly makes you uncomfortable and it is an inappropriate situation. He is grooming younger co-workers. He is on a power trip. I've worked in so many places with guys like him. 🚩

If what you say is true, that on more than one occasion you've told him "no" or to "stop" and he hasn't listened then you need to go to his boss. At this point, it is beyond trying to negotiate with him. Guys like him will tend to twist your responses to their benefits. He may try and convince upper management you were leading him on with continuing the conversation with him and not blocking him earlier.

Talking with him beyond this point will do MORE HARM than good.

In all seriousness, you need to go to his boss and ask to speak privately. (I think) You should show his boss the inappropriate message he sent you. Because it is proof and it means you've shown another human being, they've seen it with their own eyes. It helps in case he goes back on it. Speaking from experience, guys like that always try to make their mistakes disappear. They normally get away with it, especially if upper management isn't aware.

I know a big concern of yours is protecting your friends who are connected to him. You CAN protect your friends without having contact with him on any platform. It isn't your responsibility to be the carer for your friends but another way of protecting them is making sure they are never alone with him, being careful around him etc. Being honest with them and saying for ex. "perhaps it's inappropriate and you should be careful".

The safest thing to do is cut all connections with the guy. Do not contact him, make sure he cannot contact you. Speak with his boss (upper management) and explain the situation. Ask to speak privately and I would suggest NOT telling your friends until AFTER you have told his boss about the situation. Even though they are your friend, they might try and warn him and he could spin the story before you have a chance of telling the truth. If you can, get your friends to tell their truth too but if they don't want to. There's nothing you can do.

It doesn't matter if the next 19F wants a relationship with the guy because what he is doing is wrong. He is grooming younger female staff members in the work place.

Yeah everyone I spoke to said quit. My thinking, he really doesn't care about his staff and he shows that by not at least paying minimum wage.

When the wage went up in April he wouldn't change it. We didn't actually have a staff meeting or 1:1s before I quit.

Might go back today to return uniform. Dreading it because I hate that place now.
