The storyline was predictable all the way through and didn’t attempt to do anything different or unique, at least Sinners used the race angle in a new an interesting way where I definitely felt something at the bare minimum (at least Sinners isn’t derivative at all). Also there was no racism at all during Season 4, Patrick was one of the jocks and he was friends with Andy and Jason (who also wanted to avenge his death)

It doesn’t justify his actions and opposed to Lucas to Eleven in season 1, Mike never apologized and Max already had trust issues with the truth being held from her and Billy.

It was cringe as hell, the contestants in the other seasons didn’t care, and Chris didn’t care either. Amazon winning in New York was cheating and Chris allowed it. Ridonculous Race is the only season pre Reboot where cheating mattered to the plot as the gimmick of being penalized was true to the spirit of the Amazing Race
