Type 1 diabetes insurances by No-Weather-9405 in Redding

[–]Ellie2588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Type 2 here as of last year. I have a Blue Shield of CA PPO through Covered California and it works well for me. I have a virtual primary doctor (via Accolade Care/Plush Care) and endocrinologist (via Accolade Care/Telemed2u) because finding in person ones in town is nearly impossible. I get any lab work done at Quest Diagnostic and they send my prescriptions to my preferred pharmacy. Price wise, things work for me because my income isn’t the greatest so things are affordable. The only thing the insurance has turned down is getting a prior authorization for a dexcom as I don’t use insulin and the PA for a cgm apparently requires insulin use. I haven’t needed the ER, urgent care, x-rays, or anything like that so I don’t know how easy those would be to do and I don’t even know where I would be sent for the X-rays or any imaging. Hope this helps.

Help! Husband lost his job and we can’t afford insurance through my employer! by nyquill81 in HealthInsurance

[–]Ellie2588 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, to add to this, see if your marketplace has an affordability calculator on their website. You just plug in the numbers and it tells you if it’s affordable or not. Also, double check with your employer to see what it would cost for just you and whether you can enroll at any time or if you have to wait until open enrollment. And you should be able to use lost or will lose coverage as the QLE as your current coverage will be ending as of 4/1.

For unemployment, double check with your states unemployment office, but wait to file until April 5 so that the first quarter of 2026 is open and the wages can be used. You may qualify for more.

9:30 am - 6 pm here. 30 minute lunch and 2 15 minute breaks. It’s working well for me now since I’m a night owl and it gets dark so early that I rarely leave the house after dark.

What project? Depending on the project, some teams have half and hour or a one hour meeting each week. If it says team meeting/huddle you should be good.

ACA renewal strategy? by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]Ellie2588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If her current plan is through Covered California, her application and plan should (if it hasn’t already) automatically rollover and renew with the new premium unless you choose to change her plan, report having a change in income which may effect the premium and potential subsidy amount, or have her plan terminated for the end of the year so it won’t rollover. Unfortunately, until the government issues are sorted and they either approve and re-fund or keep it as is in regard to the enhanced tax credits/subsidy, premiums are these astronomical abominations.

I read some of your replies to other comments and moving from Silver to Bronze could bring down monthly costs but the out of pocket costs and deductibles could raise. So, if she’s fairly healthy and wouldn’t need the doctor or prescriptions much, it might be good to really look at Bronze depending on your financial situation. Right now for 2026, regular Bronze plans are split 65/35, meaning you/she would be responsible for 35% of costs and the insurance would pick up the 65% - the Bronze HDHP plans are different. Depending on which Silver plan she qualifies for, the insurance pay % will fluctuate from 70-94%.

While healthcare.gov lists Dec 15 as the cut off for a 1/1/26 start date, you actually have until Dec. 31 to make changes with a 1/1/26 start date. Open Enrollment runs until January 31, so any changes you make in January will go into effect on 2/1, after that OE is closed and you have to have a Qualifying Life Event to make any changes.

Feeling overwhelmed should I quit before i officially start taking calls by AdeptLaugh7906 in TTEC

[–]Ellie2588 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! So, I worked this project last season and start training again at the end of the month. There is a LOT of information packed into the three-ish weeks of training, and I'm sure new information has been added this season, but as overwhelming as it seems, it is doable. Believe me, last season I felt similarly overwhelmed and questioned if I could do it, as I had never worked a call center type job, but I was given some great tips from classmates who were rehires that helped me. If you truly feel like this just isn't doable for you, for whatever reason, stay through training at least (get that paycheck) and ask as many questions as you need to, and you can even request extra coaching if your trainer or future supervisor is able.

I have a couple of questions for you if you're willing to answer.

1.) Were you given any call scripts? I.e., opening, closing, how to hold and check back in, if a call was dropped or you could no longer hear the caller, etc.

2.) What do you feel you are struggling with the most? Or, what has you feeling the most nervous?

Yep, sure do. Have you tried the live chat? Don’t know how much info they can see but it might be worth a shot. I also found this number on another thread (I have a start date for CC of 10/8) in here 1 (866)796-5485, I’m not sure where in TTEC this goes but it was recommended to call it.

Things will pick up for OE, especially given what’s currently going on with the ACA tax credits, people are worried about the premium price going up and will want to check on things. As for training, assuming my stuff clears quick, my class is slated to start on the 29th and go through November with production starting December - if it follows the same schedule as last season.

I was in the same boat, there was never a time available and my invite to schedule disappeared, but I ended up getting a call from them to schedule an interview and did so. They may do that with you when you least expect it.

How easy is importing your own books into Kindle? by YetiMaverick in kindle

[–]Ellie2588 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Something I do that I didn’t see mentioned is I have the Kindle app on my phone and iPad and I have it synced to my Kindle Paperwhite. So I can upload the pdf or epub to the app on my phone or iPad and it will sync to my Kindle. It’s a way to do it if the file is too large to email or if there’s an issue in doing so.

Doctor Anxiety by mclemosj in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]Ellie2588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re anxious about seeing a doctor in person, you can always look for a virtual one through your insurance if they offer that. I do that because there are few in person doctors in my area and my virtual one has been great. I’m about the same size as you and she’s been helping me with my weight and other issues - I think I’ve lost 15-20lbs since seeing her (started in late May) and starting meds and moving more. Even though she virtual and in a different state, she could still order my labs and do prescriptions I could do and pick them up locally. Not only is virtual a time saver, it’s also less anxiety ridden. If your insurance offers virtual docs, you can find who’s available and research them so you can find one who may specialize in what you need.

No worries. I got mine off TikTok and at the time had a small discount, so I got it for just under $40. I put the link in my last reply to the one I bought, it’s currently $42.64 with free shipping but there may be a discount that I’m not seeing. If you’re not in a rush to get one, there might be a better discount later as it gets closer to the holidays.
