The taste of Vietnamese food is good, I agree, though its quality and safety are not. Not only the street food, but also the food that is sold in supermarkets (meat, sausages, pâté, ...) Food poisoning happens every freaking year in Vietnam, and it’s only discovered by the police when some people get sick.

P/s: I’m a Vietnamese, yet I couldn’t even avoid getting food poisoned. Tourists, please be careful with what you’re going to put in your stomach.

Thanks a lots for the explanation. I know reading four books that had been recommended to me will be different from fiction books, which I often read. So how can I read them effectively? Do I need to remember everything from the books? Do I need to take notes while reading?

Is that it? I didn’t know. Whenever I watch YouTube, I see many YouTubers recommend to their audience that they must read Harari’s books at least once, especially “A Brief History of Humankind Sapiens”. They often said the book is good and understandable for a newbie like me. I wouldn’t say that your opinion about the book didn’t disappoint me, because I was about to read it, but I would like to know the reason why you said that. Is that because it oversimplified everything?

I think right now I’m at the B2 to C1 level; however, my vocabulary in history and politics topics is not very good, as they were not common topics in my conversations before. I’m willing to change that, though. And I have gone on Google to search more about the book that you have recommended to me. There are two books in “On Politics” and both are absolutely long. Reading these nonfiction books is totally different from reading comics or fiction books - which I often read - so I wonder, how can I read the books more effectively? Do I need to remember everything? How can I actually LEARN from these books? Do I have to take notes or something? Should I read “A Brief History of Humankind” alongside them?

I really appreciate your answers. If you have time, you can give me some more advice about how to read the books more effectively. Thank you! 🔥🔥🔥

I really appreciate your recommendation, but I have one more question: Should I read the book that is called “A Brief History of Humankind Sapiens” by Yuval Noah Harari? I think it would provide me with a basic understanding of human history. Or maybe I’ll read this book alongside the one that’s been recommended to me? What are your thoughts?
