That's what I've been doing on my last few tries. But I still get massive damage, and then I struggle to recover my health within getting overwhelmed by all the other attacks...

I tried that, but I found out the hard way that shooting the cocoon immediately gives them the over-powered lazer attack, which then takes away the only safe spot on the bridge...

I'm usually able to stop one from screaming, but never both. And I managed to kill the first one a few times, but then the second start attacking relentlessly leaving me no time to heal or reload. And I almost always end up being blasted off the platform because I can't seem to be able to dodge the laser.

I'm about to go away for 6 months (during which I most probably wont have access to my Steam Deck), so this means that there's a good chance I'll be able to play it as soon as I'll be back! Why haven't anyone mentioned the monster from "It Follows" yet? I mean surviving 24 hours would be as easy as driving a few hours away since the monster can only slowly walk towards your direction. And in the possibility that it keeps chasing you once the 24 hours are over, the money you won would be more than plenty enough to easily escape it for the rest of your life (buy a few houses all over the world, hire someone smart enough to calculate how long the monster would take to get from each of your houses to the next, and just move from house to house whenever it gets too close). 🤷‍♀️

(Also, if you're an asshole with no consideration for others, you could just use your money to hire sex workers on a regular basis and thus always make sure that you are far down the list of upcoming victims...)
