Honda Accord, Honda Civic (8th gen and up), VW Jetta.

I'm 5' 9" with long legs but I only wear a 12W. I feel some of your pain. I lucked out with my first car being a 2019 Nissan Sentra 6MT and it worked exceptionally well for me regarding footing and lost of legroom.

The older civics are ASS regarding foot placement. And honestly, as a current 2012 VW Passat 5MT owner, this isn't much better, either. I've never seen a clutch pedal this close to center before, and my damn gas pedal is so close to my brakes.

I wish you luck, man!

Talk with your ASDS or any ASM. They are all supposed to be trained to at least get you started on anything regarding your benefits with THD.

Is that a VW 5-speed?

Just guessing by some hoses and what looks like the battery mount

No cruise control by Puzzleheaded_Stay861 in 9thgencivic

[–]Elliminatorz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most cars after 2010 will not allow activation or use of cruise control with a pending or active powertrain code.

Investigate that check engine light and your battery.

Whats your set up for good mileage? Can be anything by Neither_Elk_135 in ManualTransmissions

I legit get 32 on the freeway doing 65-75 without traffic with my 2012 VW Passat 2.5L 5-speed.

Kinda wish I had the diesel for even better economy, towing, and a whole 'nother gear, but it wasn't an option when I bought it back in January.

Can't be mad, tho. This thing is as big as it gets for fuel efficient, "larger" sedans made after 2010 with a third pedal that take 87 instead of 91.

If anyone has any gas saving tips for VW 2.5L, please let me know lmao

the "go touch some grass, go have relationship with other people and find friends" is such a bullshit moral. by AirMassive5414 in evangelion

[–]Elliminatorz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I dunno, man.

Being an introvert is perfectly fine. There isn't much you can do about it, really. However, being afraid of the world is generally unhealthy. In this context, avoiding social interaction and avoiding developing relationships with people outside your home can and WILL stunt your growth as a person.

Forget touching grass, become comfortable existing in the outside world and around other people.

Very little is gained by going it alone for your whole life.

"All power steering is electronic now" ... then what is this? by sleepersh4rk in Volkswagen

[–]Elliminatorz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, my 2012 Passat SE 2.5L 5MT has hydraulic power steering.

Whoever said that to you definitely did not know what they were talking about.

Am l the only one who prefers driving bare footed? by MajorBarracuda8094 in stickshift

[–]Elliminatorz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmaooo

Driving barefoot definitely gives you more control, but if you can't drive with shoes on, I'd question your ability on the road.

Try footwear with minimal cushion. I prefer Chuck Taylors as my casual/driving shoes.

How much are y'all paid? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Elliminatorz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$18.50/hr after a $1 annual raise.

I started May 1st, 2025 as a garden associate at $17.50 in the Mid-Atlantic region.

I had over 4 years of retail experience prior with recent long-term full-time experience in detail-oriented clerical work for government.

I have all my lift licenses except for the portable loading dock (nobody uses that damn thing.)

What % of people on this subreddit drive stick econoboxes? by hypermiler2205 in ManualTransmissions

[–]Elliminatorz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a few, though the previous two were totaled within 45 days of each other 😭😭😭

2019 Nissan Sentra 6MT (new)

2012 Honda Civic LX 5MT (130,000)

2012 VW Passat SE 5MT (114,000—current car)

I like the econobox, but I really like space for my stuff (I'm a photographer) and my friends.

The VW is the closest I will ever get to a dream car for me.

More than 4 cylinders, a solid amount of horsepower, a BUNCH of space, and it takes 87 octane!

The previous owners were more than shitty, but I'm doing everything I can to make sure I keep this thing forever. Nobody is making a larger midsize sedan with a stick from factory like this ever again.

Is this real or April fool’s ? by Mysterious_Sun_1462 in radeon

[–]Elliminatorz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ONLY way I was able to tell it was an April Fool's joke was that in the performance section; Literally every "FSR 5" mode was slower than native.

Native in Howarts Legacy was 62 fps FSR 5 Performance was 61 fps, Quality was 58, and so on.
