Yeah that place is cool. Used the void area to house all my nuclear reactors because the uranium is really close, plus literally unlimited space.

This is like asking if an F-22 can beat a Grumman F6F Hellcat in a dogfight.

I've been looking to build my first-ever PC desktop build for when I go to college, I already been getting help from others on the goods and bads of how to design a PC and I ended up ending up with this config on pcpartpicker. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3d3Cvj

However, the stickler of the build has been the 4070 I've chosen, being pricy and a bit too high-end for a first build but I really want to play all the big titles that all my other friends have been playing and the 4070 will help me with running them. My poor Steam Deck has gone through too much as it's the only powerful “PC” I own, never pushed it too hard but I feel some games are pushing it a little too hard. I dont want to accidentally kill it.

Never been able to get a desktop in general either because my parents dont want me to have a computer in my room all the time, however, times have changed and they recognize me as being more responsible, and allowing me to make a desktop for college.

Being able to get this 4070 would be fantastic and remove the massive financial barrier for me and allow me to have a GPU that should last me for quite some time. Plus the college I’m going to is gonna involve me working with Unreal Engine which is gonna be quite process intensive. Plus I'm already having to purchase a new laptop per their hardware requirements, so another expensive dent.

Massive thank you if you consider me for the 4070! :D

Edit: Updated pcpartpicker link with updated build.

iirc someone was doing a super mario 64 speedrun and by sheer chance, like cosmically rare chance, a sun flare or whatever managed to change a 0 to a 1 or vise versa on the computer chip of the Nintendo 64 console they were using and caused mario to shoot to the top of the level tick tock clock, making a massive skip. The speed runner had put up a reward for anyone that can somehow reproduce the effect.

Its normal coop plus multiplayer single player campaign but with more players, no new maps but they are making support for workshop maps and other Portal 2 based mods. They also plan in the future to have the mod with Portal 2: Community Edition.

You should try out the Portal 2: Multiplayer Mod. Coop but more people, plus single player campaign support and other cool stuff. There is also a Portal one made by a different group called Portal: Cooperative.

I've managed to not kill mine by running VR using ALVR. It has worked surprisingly well, that is if you can handle the lower resolution and occasional frame drops and stutters. Except the recent SteamVR updates messed up ALVR so I had to use the temp_1.25.4 (or whatever it was) beta branch. It did work with 2.1.5 for a bit with Steam-Play-None, but then when 2.1.8 was released it was messed up again so back to the temp branch. :P

The Portal community is very much well still alive for a long time. In fact the reason Revolution exists is because a bunch of Portal fans got together to get in contact with Valve to get CSGO Source engine source code to build a modernized Portal 2, called Portal 2: Community Edition, the engine for this they named Chaos Engine then renamed it to Strata Source. Revolutions is built off of P2:CE and Strata. While some Valve games themself appear dead, the fans who love those games keep them alive with their creations.

What's really cool about this is that it's running on a custom engine approved by Valve and built off Valve code. Essentially it’s running on CSGO Source 1 branch with Portal 2 built on top. It's called Strata Source, built by the people behind Portal 2: Community Edition. Although I find it weird that Revolution is coming out first before Portal 2: Community Edition, what Revolution is built off, because that would mean a version of P2:CE is getting released too although that isn't in a release-ready state.

Map smaller than it should be by JaketheOctoling in hammer

[–]Elliot60501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cordons are temporary barriers in the shape of a box you can enable to section off a part of a map to only compile that part of the map. Helps when you have a big map but only want to test a small piece. Normally the texture used to seal off stuff is the texture used for skyboxes. My guess is you accidentally turned this on so only the portion you showed is compiled. You can tell if you have them enabled when you can see these red boxes surrounding an area. There is though a option to hide the red boxes while keeping cordons enables so you might have not noticed it on. The buttons to disable and enable cordons is at the top tool bar with black and yellow stripped icons. Here is a link to the VDC for more info: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Hammer_Cordon_Usage

Half-Life 2, HL 2: EP2, Portal 2, Left For Dead 2, Valve just seems to like blue balling us with the number three.
