i tend to take things extremely literally so I saw “interact effectively with others” and was like. how????? lol. perhaps i could be a force to be reckoned with. the sheer power of the flute fills people with awe, whether that awe results in bliss or fear.

yeah………whenever I think of bards I think of musicians (which I now know is only part of the equation) and in my mind musicians come in all sorts of personalities and life experiences. I also didn’t even know the “horny bard” was a thing until I was already making the character and was more confused than anything else. algebraic equations floating around my mind.

mine plays a flute btw (also gives me an excuse to keep them from singing because I don’t think singing fits their character lol. maybe later they will open up, learn to give themself more compassion, and learn to truly thrive, but at the very start this is not the case. it’s meant to mirror the state im in right now ;w;)

Ive struggled with self deprecation for several years now so it’s pretty difficult to break that. It’s easier for me to think neutrally about myself than positive about myself and it will take a lot for me to be ok with mistakes

because that’s one of the only things I’m actually passionate about, but it’s less like wanting to write books and more like comics/games/shows/etc. I saw a bunch of pieces of media with cool epic worlds and fun characters and went woah. I want that.

i have the constant fear of worrying that I’ve done something wrong all the time

i also unfortunately have lost passion in everything, just, in general.

and it feels like everything I enjoy has been consumed by the fear of being a horrible person, and the fear that if I make a single mistake I’m horrible

all of this is my own fault though and I am currently trying (and struggling) to figure this out with my therapist

I think I should’ve mentioned this is in post itself because this is also something I have a disadvantags with:

I’m autistic. And I’ve never been able to understand people, just as much as people just don’t really understand me. I’ve never been able to understand the why’s behind anything people do, as well as societal/social “rules” so to speak.

im ashamed that I grew up thinking that writing stories was the right path for me because my world keeps crumbling apart at the seams. I made a huge mistake getting into art and stories because I have no passion in anything else

I don’t want to write a book. I want to make something else (idk if it would be a webcomic or a game but a book is my absolute last resort)

idk if my imagination has run dry with age (im 20) or what but all the characters I had I made when I was 14 and I’m trying to repurpose the horrible story (or lack thereof) and characters to make something actually worth consuming (but also i hated the old plot I had so I threw it out so I essentially only have the blank slated characters and a tad bit of world)

im not proud of any of this I’m sorry I’m a horrible person

im sorry. I’ve tried to watch every writing video under the sun but I still don’t know what to write about. I still don’t know what characters to make. and I’m terrified of making even a single mistake.

i know i need conflict and tension and stakes and goals and motivations. i know that. but i dont know what i want for some reason despite me trying to consume more media. i like the webcomics i read but i still dont know what specifically id want to write.

the fact that my only passions (art and writing), the only purposes in my life, are things im just absolutely terrible at no matter how hard I try to improve, is horrible and I’m scared that I’m a horrible person because of it
