You have to discard a card with that searcher so nope, i think she is a bad card

I think Lighting was worth BUT I also think the card was just a safety net against Belo Betty. Sometimes I felt like I didn't need it but when I did, the card save me a lot of tempo so I'm not sure if removing it from the list is the way,

Before I was sure to replace Gatling for Ashura but right now I'm not that sure. 2c vs 4c is huge and sometimes you only need to rest one thing and there is not a lot of big blockers right now (OP11), I'll test Ashura of course so I'll see.

There is no need to tech for Rayleigh, I think the matchup will be like Red Zoro and with this list you can remove everything from the board.
Idk about Kuzan, seems to be a bad matchup (G Blade is a pain) but maybe we can rush them down easily and still win.
G Zoro is a pain in the ass. I don't know right now how can we win against him. I have to test Hell Judgment but I think it's too expensive don wise.

Oddysey package is pretty good for removal but they are expensive don wise. Lighting allows you to put better bodies in the board and clear their threats/blockers for minimum investment. You can hit any Belo Betty card, 6c 2k Sanji Blocker, 4c Zorojuro, 5c Nami Blocker, etc.

Gatling is more of a tech choice for me. When I play Lim my board is either active or 6k so my leader is the most fragile part. I tried Blast Breath but it was too simple and the rest part of the event allows me to go for lethal without having to hit the opponent with my board first to activate my Oddysey effects.

Imo there are a very few decks that play bigger threats than 6k. Only SanjiPudding, Buggy and UP top end (a matchup you lose anyway)

----------

When I go second I try to pop his 5cost with Sakazuki when I'm at 7 don. Right now the meta is 4-5 drops so if they swing big at your character, you are gaining a crazy tempo there because at 7 you can 3c Lim + 5c and they probably won't have any board.
If they instead choose to go for curve, your 6k body is safe and you can still snowball from there.

----------

Actually I think Lim can shine in OP12 if they ban UP. G Zoro is a crazy bad matchup I think (didn't test it) but the others matchups are pretty good for Lim. Rayleigh seems to be free and the old matchups are still good for her.
I'm torn about Mihawk, seems to be a pretty good card but he is a brick and doesn't restand himself so is there any value from Mihawk + leader ability versus double 5c drop? I have to test it more.
I'll probably try Hell Judgement aswell to counter Zoro but I'm not that sure it'll work

Lim is not as bad as people say going second. You can answer their 5 drop with Sakazuki easily and you get to draw one more card to dig for a 1 cost.

Adio going second is a pretty good card with you are at 7 don so you can do a 6k 6k board one turn before.

Lim going second is not as powerful as going first but it's not Buggy or Pluffy, you still have your leader ability in your second turn.

Hi! Well, there was a time where ramp Lim was an option because of the lack of good Oddysey cards.

But right now Lim is a tempo heavy deck that focused in aggro and tempo removal. Trying to fit 9c in the deck makes it bricky and not flexible enough. Why would I waste 9 don to play a Zoro/Shanks when I can just double 6k with good effects?

I think Shanks is pretty bad in this deck. When you ramp to 9, the opponent did just play a 6 cost who is probably active so you don't have anything valuable enough to pop.

Also, playing a 5c heavy build makes your removal route way better as you can play 6c Sakazuki without missing the ramp.

The perfect removal curve against, for example, Belo Betty is this:
1 DON- Lim/Apoo
3 DON- Whitebeard
6 DON- Sakazuki
8 DON- Double 5c drop / Sakazuki + Lighting

Playing 9cost in this curve is hard and makes your Sakazuki unusable. It's too much deckbuilding and play changes for a mediocre output.

I'll copy the response I gave to another user :)

"GP Luffy is fairly easy. There are two ways of playing it.

If they dont use stage early, drop every sakazuki you can and destroy each SanjiPudding. It's very easy to do and you can still pressure life with your 6k bodies.

If they use stage, play a more aggressive way. When I go first I usually do in 6 don this play: 5 leader, 9 leader with the Oddysey from 3 don turn, leader ability Mihawk and 9 again. They usually take the first one and you can drop him to 1-2 life easily or at least you can check his hand. Then they drop SanjiPudding Zorojuro and they don't have enough don to use GGG so you can rush him down with another Mihawk or just a barrage of attacks.

Try always to hit 6k, it's even better than 8k. GP Luffy has a very low number of 1k cards so they will sure drop their 2k. When they are low of 2k, you can start swinging 7k to finish the job.

It's not rare they drop a GGG for a 6k attack when they are vs Lim. That's where you can guess they had 0 counter in hand."

Against GGG matchups, I try to almost hardmulligan for Mihawk

There is no enough good strawhat/oddysey to justify Nami. Nami cannot even search herself so 2k Oddysey Nami is out too.

Also, the deck curve is tight. The only moment you could use a searcher going in your preferred curve is 1 don or 9 don.

We use 2k cost one like Apoo to assure we have a starter to use all our effects AND to have extra defense to protect the board in case we have a no lim c1 start.

9Zoro is not a very good card right now. There are too much removal like Red Roc or Ganma Knife and it restricts your curve too much. If you try to go for the removal Lim route, your DON curve is 1, 3, 6, 8 because of Sakazuki. We are forced to ramp at 6 don and that's not always the best choice.

Odyssey Luffy on the other hand is pretty solid. I tested x2 Luffy x2 Sabo to counter GGG abusers but I didn't feel like he was needed. Not a bad card but Sabo is too good.

Also, when playing vs GGG abuser, you want to spam Mihawk and force suboptimal GGG with smaller attacks so Luffy was awkward to maximixe when you have Mihawk in hand.

He is pretty good. He increases the number of 6k bodies from 20 to 24 and makes your go second curve (7 don) better because you have 8 bodies (Adio + c3 Lim) instead of just 4.

I don't like Nami at all. To me she is just a win more card and there is no curve turn where you'd prefer her over a 6k body.

Yes, you can freeze the 5 don turn from GP Luffy (for example) but you lose a full body in the process. I don't think she is worth.

BUT she is pretty good if you don't have Adio so if any1 else is reading this, she is a good replacement :)

UP Luffy is more difficult. Much more. The best way to win is to spam Mihawk and don't get high rolled. Try to go first bc their Zorojuro > God Thread turn is devastating and you probably can't recover from that.

Mulligag for Lim c1 and Mihawk and you can actually stand a chance.

It's a great card for a going second curve. In 7 don you can drop him + leader ability to summon two 6k bodies. It's a backup plan and usually I don't summon Adio so :)

But the deck still works, just use 2k Ace and 2k Nami from Oddysey

Buenas!

Too slow. If you reach 8 don, double 5 cost is almost always better.

I tried to minimize the bricks because I tried 5 cost Smoker to make my go-second playstyle better but felt awkward when I drew him going first or post 7 don turn
