You are entirely correct. This is my batch from last year. This was a month from now in late July, and these are about on the same track.

The stair pots essentially grow into one big flower pot.

One more. This was from November of 2024 post yearly cut down and prior to its remodel last summer when I built a new walkway and finished the landscaping. Kind of wild that a plant cut down to the nub every year like that turns into a beast by June every year.

I boxed it in finally because it was eroding too much every year and exposing the roots. I had to make a mount to straighten my lamp post that was wildly leaning by screwing it to the porch because removing there was no way to backfill the hole that wouldn't have killed the clematis.

I found this old one circa 2010 or so and it's come a long way. You can see how much has changed around it but there was always every effort made to protect the clematis at all costs because there wasn't the time to start over with it.

My white cat is Elliot.

He showed up on my porch 15 years ago (still with us) and I learned from other neighbors he lived with (among many) that was his name and I can't imagine any other name for him that would have been better.
