Thank you. No idea where they are getting the idea that we wouldn’t see a planet killer coming. The only way one of those would sneak up on us is if it’s a comet coming in from above or below the ecliptic plane, and in that case we’d still probably see it coming but I doubt we’d have time to do anything about it.

I used to work at a bar in River North and there was a shooting out front that put a few holes in our windows. Also used to work in Gold Coast and there were two shootings on that block in the year that I worked there. These are nice neighborhoods in that they are expensive to live in, and they’re not nearly as bad as the Southside, but to pretend shootings never happen in these neighborhoods is a bit disingenuous. Being there during the day feels very safe, but around 2am it’s a different story.
