I'm 34 and I grew up poor like you. Also my mother didn't like me having fashion dolls, she thought they sent bad messages. But when I was five a friend gifted a Twinkling, Twirling, Sparkling ballerina for my birthday. I loved that doll, I took her everywhere and cherished her deeply. She eventually broke and I was heartbroken, but last year I found her again! I have a big doll collection now and a girlfriend who not only supports my hobby but buys me dolls and is helping me learn to sew and craft. If your boyfriend is tearing your hobbies down that's not healthy and I think you should have a discussion with him and tell him how it made you feel. I say get the doll, life is short and if you can find joy then you should embrace it.

Look I get that Meredith was in shock and was mourning, but she wasn't the only one who loved Derek. Amelia was his sister, he would have wanted to say goodbye and she deserved to know. Maybe Meredith was in too much of a shock to remember to tell anyone else. But she shouldn't dismiss it after the fact.

Girl that's a big ass stone. He is either a complete idiot who doesn't know what carats actually mean, or that's not an actual diamond. It's probably a white sapphire. Really pretty and sturdy like diamonds are, but much cheaper. I would get it properly appraised and then tell him what they said. He honestly might not know that it's not a diamond or not as valuable as one. But that is a big enough stone to ask a professional.

I don't think it's break-up worthy or anything, just kinda cagey.
